Where are you going with the windshield down where you'd need adaptive cruise control and forward collision? You heading down the highway with no windshield? If I put the windshield down on my JT with adaptive cruise/forward collision — besides covering the module box is there anything else I need to do?
It’s a car cruise. I don’t need forward collision. I’m asking if I need to turn it off or if it will automatically turn off? I don’t want my truck beeping and at me nonstop bc it thinks there’s something in front of me bc of the cover. I would hope the system is smart enough to turn off automatically with the windshield down.Where are you going with the windshield down where you'd need adaptive cruise control and forward collision? I mean I guess other things to do include put on eye protection and keep your mouth closed.
yeah I’ve been debating, especially since I already had to replace the windshield like a month ago. It’s a car cruise and I’ll only be going 5-25mph. I couldn’t find anything other than putting the cover on.I've actually thought about this as well, and just came to the conclusion there is too much tied into the windshield now to ever lower it? Next to the control box, on the left, I also see a couple wires that are connected to the banding around the windshield. Not sure if those are antennae related or something. Just more to it, it seems than with Jeeps in the past.
And the adaptive cruise just recognizes that the cover is on and to turn off the system, I guess? There should not be any wires connected to the actual windshield frame. I have lowered mine a couple of times. The wiper blades do need to come off to fully lower the windshield. My JTR came with a cover to protect the ACC module and camera.
I didn't drive with it down. I was running wires and having the windshield down made it easier. And the adaptive cruise just recognizes that the cover is on and to turn off the system, I guess?
You have any seal issues or anything afterwards. I’ve read these newer models don’t have the same issues as the older Jeeps models.
Thanks, yeah, I keep saying ACC bc that’s the system but I’m really more so wondering if the forward collision is going to be going crazy with the cover on. I don’t plan on using any cruise control lolI didn't drive with it down. I was running wires and having the windshield down made it easier.
On my JTR, I have the standard cruise control and ACC. I can use the standard CC or use ACC. ACC doesn't come on until you press the center button in the ACC switch cluster. If using ACC, I turn it on, set my distance and use the set buttons on the standard CC cluster. If using the standard CC, I turn it on with it's switch and set my speed. ACC doesn't do anything at that point.
Wait, there's a manual?
