You learn something new everyday. I wish I learned this sooner though.
I'm a complete newbie when it comes to cars, but I do try to make the effort to learn about them.
Today, I learned you're never suppose to overfill the gas tank. Usually when I fill up at Costco, after I hear the click at the pump, I press the handle one more time to make sure it didn't prematurely stop. Sometimes I may do it 1-3 times to be sure.
I didn't realize that could be bad for the truck.
I've spent the last hour reading on its negative effects, specifically on the evap system.
May I ask:
I've gassed up at least 37 times this year. Did I do significant damage to the Gladiator? I just got back from an Jeep Wave visit a month ago and my truck didn't throw out any codes.
Are modern vehicles less prone to the negative effects of overfilling? Are Gladiators less sensitive to it?
Thanks for your time
