Hello all, new Jeep owner. just went out on the trail back home in Florida after I got my new tires put on, and found some deeper water than I expected. Got up to about half way up the head light, and handled like a champ, but I wanted to know what/how need to clean in the engine.

video here:

Just go buy some degreaser, purple power or whatever of your choice, spray it down good and hose it off and wipe and dry as needed. No real thought to it, just Do it with the engine not running.

Important thing here is DILUTE the degreaser. I like Adams degreased diluted 8:1, few brushes to get in tight areas, rinse thoroughly. Carpro Pearl diluted 1:1 to dress it without being greasy or attracting more dirt. Do not use some shiny shit on the plastics.

Second the not using shiny Sh** on the plastics, and diluting the degreaser. I think there is one you can use and hook it to the hose pipe that is self diluting, a buddy uses it when he rinses his engine and under carriage. Can't remember the brand though.

What was the experience going through that much water like?
I have some awesome video from the dashcam, don’t know how I can share it on here? My buddy was there with his F-150 so I knew I could get pulled out. It was just a low spot on a Florida trail, but I didn’t think it would be that deep! Tires slipped a bit at its deepest, but went straight through. Had to do it twice since I got stopped by another water crossing that I KNEW was too deep
