Here’s mine. I trimmed the rear plastic piece so it sits flat. I’m guessing if I really tried I could lift the back and get it open but this top is more of a deterrent than secure anyway.

How does your s sit flush with the tailgate and does your rubber seal at the rear actually make contact on top of the tailgate? Mine sits on top.

That plastic piece at the back end of the t-slot is hokey and poorly designed. It shouldn’t spin on the bolt like they have it.

it should have a second bolt or a pin to keep it from spinning.

You can check the seal at night by turning on the bed lamp and looking for light bleeding through.

I ended up returning this cover. As far as I'm concerned it was a poor execution of a very cool design. They advertise that it is secure, and I was excited about the design with the slots to mount other gear. It even says "SECURE" in giant letters on the box. I wanted it for lockable storage when I have my soft top on. Between the scratches and the lack of security, I was very disappointed.

On a side note, I found this cooler that will fit under a flush mount cover. I really like and it's pretty inexpensive.

Agreed. It’s not particularly secure.
