Want to sell your max tow springs??????????

I posted the part number last three digits I gleaned off the forum. But I guess some won't believe the part numbers.
And keeps switching between talking about sport, then max tow, then sport vs. overland, then overland vs. max tow.........
For sure, if you want them. I think the shipping may be a lot on those things to you though.

Likely won't fit in a USPS flat rate priority mail box, eh? LOL. It's the size as much as anything I suspect. All shippers penalize you for size even if not heavy.
I should find out what the dealers would charge for springs (almost afraid to even ask knowing what they get for basic "accessories") and then see how yours, with shipping, would compare.
I have a funny feeling that max tow springs would keep my truck from sagging so badly with a little weight on the back.

I am guesstimating its going to cost from 30-50 to ship to you. I am more than willing if you want them. If I remember correctly I believe they around 10 pounds a piece. I may be wrong. My memory deteriorates daily.

Mine, hourly........ my mother used to call me the "absent-minded professor" guess that ages me, too.

I bet you are close on weight. I have several springs on my shelves from Eagle, AMX, Javelin, that sort of thing, but the weight isn't far off from 10. That's a good guess.

If you use the private messaging here, please go ahead and PM me your price, shipping and so on. I'm doing some powder coating now so have to pay closer attention to the stuff in the oven and then moving on to some zinc plating so will see how the next part of the day goes but often I'm waiting for processes and have chromebook and tablet in my shop. (oh, I enjoy watching the zinc strip off parts in the acid bath - what fun)

Shadow what about using an airbag helper spring? Like this? I have one on my ram 1500, from back when I trailered my old wheeling rig. If I put it on the trailer a little to close to the truck it would sag it. Put these in and all was good.

I appreciate the tips, helps, etc. thanks - at least those work with the springs and spring supports and a person could route the hose to a single point. Install between the coils, plumb them, done.

I prefer to not add things that I'd need to maintain or deal with - adding air when hooking to a load, getting done, letting it back.

I have found some max tow springs and will try the springs as a built-in, no maintenance solution first.
If it's still an issue - I doubt, but there is truly only one way to know - then I can look back at this sort of thing.
I am hopeful the springs will resolve - ideally the truck would drop very little when towing or hitting car shows and swap meets so I'd not have to mess with headlights and other things that go with a sagging rear - I don't ever plan on hitting the maximum an overland can tow.

IF I had to go this route, I think I have an old Eagle automatic leveling system (minus the shocks - I don't like air shocks) that a person could hook to the bags and there's a link that runs a compressor if needed. I may even have the compressor and switches and harness.
But I'm hoping to do it with springs and avoid more stuff.

With springs it will look stock and the dealership shop won't wonder what the heck I've been doing with the poor little Overland HA. ;-)

I put these on my Ram somewhere around 2012, found a pressure that worked all the time and left them there. Haven’t touched them since. Just a thought. I might be doing these if I decide to get the overland instead of ordering the sport s.

Jeep did a massive fail with the naming of the different models. The Overland should have just been called Sahara like the JL. The Max Tow package should have been called the Overland package since people who actually overland want the payload/towing capacity.

This is not a slight on the current Overland model, just a random opinion about the naming convention that no one asked for. :captain:

It actually makes sense - can't take it as a slight as it does fit. I actually want the payload and towing but was not able to get that with other options. I know they do all of their market studies and hire groups at outrageous fees to get the information but I think they missed- I don't want to drive a thousand miles and not have the screen and nav. Nav and the larger screen with the expanded options is for people who travel and tow and go places they've never been.
To get some of the things wanted for driving across the country, had to give up towing - that's silly because I won't drive across the country without some payload - or, we'd take the Grand Cherokee.
I will be heading to Colorado next year, maybe Florida, for sure WI and IL - each time, towing.
I think your thoughts have at least some merit. Have you ever thought of charging, say, $250/hour for your logic? Talking to FCA, soon to be PFCA..........

Well there you go - posting something that clearly doesn't exist.
I suppose you have a photo of bigfoot, too?

Sorry, just HAD to! The paint fumes and powder coat in the air are getting to me, I think. Maybe it's the acid (HCL, not THAT type)

I plugged in my JT info and bookmarked the site. That's an "if all else fails" option - or even for a very short local tow if I have to get close to the payload decal number for a short time.
If you want a truck that you can drive for hours and not have a sore back or have to put your teeth back in place - the Overland is like a 4x4 cruising machine. I've rarely if ever sat in or driven anything so comfortable. The seats fit like a glove and I have a really bad back from years of lifting carrying and leaning (who the heck needs a transmission jack anyway - oh, I'm paying for that now) - and the steering wheel is a perfect size, I find excuses to drive this thing and am killing my insurance miles limit (7500 per year for a really cheap rate) for the rate break I get.
I really hope I can outfit this truck to do what I need and not bust the soft springs.

Am working on spring options that I think will resolve my own needs and "issues" with my Overland - but I did visit their site and agree - using the hose/line kit a person could round the filler to a convenient spot and fill, or release air, in seconds.
It's still an option I guess - prefer the spring route but "options" or "plan B's" are never a mistake.

oh I agree with you , I also owned an Excursion that was a great tow vehicle but it would always squat a little at the rear when towing probably could have used those bags but never caused an issue ever towing.
