Stick it on the dash?

Grab handle

Or

A Pillar?

I cannot decide. I do like the ram design mount better, ram has single lock arms and it's a 25mm ball instead of a 20mm.

But no matter where I think of sticking a phone it's either blocking the infotainment, blocking the windshield, blocking a vent or blocking an airbag.

I went with the grab handle mount from CMM for all the reasons you mentioned. It sits out of the way while still being in view. I can easily reach it (I am tall with a giant arm span haha) to change music or whatever. I did make sure to adjust it low enough to stay below the airbag deployment zone.

This setup is what I went with. Didnt want it up in my face and drivibg view. I'm not tall and have no issues reaching my phone

I'm leaning towards the Ram because they have a track that attaches to the top of the dash with the factory screws under the storage tray. Then I can mount my phone and iPad. At $230 for this configuration, I'm having trouble pulling the trigger tho.

@Moe_Fugga thanks for the photos. There's not a lot online. I do like that position. It's next to the charging ports. My passenger would probably toss my phone though and put hers there >_<

Haha I asked my wife if she wanted another on the right side of the handle and she didn’t. She uses the cup holder. That’s fine with me as it saves $$$ for other stuff :LOL:

@Alabama Mud Machine
Thank you for sharing. Do you have a more top down view where it shows the mat cut?

I've been considering the 67 but when I put all the traits against each other... On paper Ram has a 24mm vs 20mm ball. Ram I don't have to cut the rubber mat in the dash tray. Ram has one tension clamp not two. Ram's holder seems more secure (idk this last point really I'm sure he 67 holder hasn't dropped your phone and my be nicer on a phone without a case

I use a magnetic mount I had in my last vehicle with a goose neck magnet to the lighter socket. It gets in the way of the 4WD knob a little, but I can move it when going offroad or move it and put it back after shifting to 4L.

Also, the 67D mount is SUPER strong! It has double springs in it, and they REALLY hold your phone. I've even taken some offroad videos with heavy bumps and it's held my phone in place just fine. I was leery at first, too, because of very shitty past experiences with that type of spring-grip style design, but the 67D mount is ridiculously strong, you won't have to worry about your phone slipping. My buddy up the road with the gator JTR, he said he was skeptical, too, and then one day we had to make a beer run, and I said, "You drive" (because I had just put my Fox steering stabilizer on), so he could tell the difference over stock, and he also got to use the 67D phone mount, and now he's going to order one for his JTR...And probably a new Fox stabilizer, too, after driving mine. :like:
