rant. I have a random mystery thunk

Not really looking for a fix here, but realllllly need to vent a little.

There is a random thunk somewhere. Sounds like rear, sounds like a bolt is one turn too loose. Its random as hell too. I can't find any ONE thing that will trigger the noise. Its not rotational, not related to speed but it will only make the sound when moving. I've tried jumping in the bed. shaking the truck left and right.
I just took the top off and added sound deadening matt. Noise was there before and the same after. Made sure to torque the screws down all over.
I've physically grabbed all shocks and even gotten under and inspected the steering. Nothing and more nothing. I even took the camper shell off to see if it was the cause.

Did you check the factory Jack area? Maybe the bolt/screw for holding the Jack in place needs tweaking or the tire iron is loose.

Speed? RPM? Accelerating, coasting, decelerating? Right or left hand sweep? Hot or cold engine/trans? Where is the sound located? Can you “feel” it?

and yes, it’s frustrating. Mine was the trim on the B pillar over certain bumps while slight turn.

Checked, Was able to tighten it down, but the sound remains

Can't quite seem to find a trigger. The noise appears only while moving. Will do it forward or reverse, turning or straight. its one thunk, sounds like there's some amount of weight behind it.
It'll even do it with a little bit of flexing.
In addition to the spare, I think I might have forgotten to check the rear track bar.

Ive had tons of suspension clunking and ALL of them are from sway bar links.

I went to metal cloak and smoked the bushings in a year. replaced it with a currie antirock and now my rear longer metal cloak bushings are clunking yay

I had the clunk related to my rear sway bar mounts, they're manufactured like junk - mine were literally peeling apart from the seam in the middle. I had a shop weld some heavy washers around the hole, perfect ever since.

I had something similar with mine. Turns out the hitch was rattling in the receiver and would rattle going over bumps at just the right speed.

Was just going to post this. I used to keep my Bolt receiver lock in there, and at certain speeds, I'd get a rattle, and when occasionally turning, I'd get that 'THUNK!' of it sliding to the side, and the rubber/silicone coated lock would whack into the receiver. Drove me crazy for a few weeks, before I decided to walk behind my wife while she was going slowly, and saw it sliding back and forth.. lol.

Additionally, I DO have a broken fender liner that will occasionally smack the grill, and produce a 'smack' (not a 'thunk')

I have one when accelerating from a stop. I think it’s what F150 owners refer to as “slip yoke clunk”.

The slip yoke splines need more lube. I haven’t taken the time to see how to do it though.

I get something similar but only on inclines. I'm almost positive it is the brakes releasing due to the hill start assist.

I have the same thing going on, and made a thread about it, but no solution yet.

Check your drive shaft, I noticed mine had a little play, and it seems like my clunk is coming from the rear drive shaft. When I gave it a few tucks, it seemed like the clunking noise was the same. I was hearing inside of the cabin.
