I just installed these lights and they work very well. However, the Plug N Play adapter I ordered DOES NOT fit the Oracle flush tail light plug or the OEM tail lights............very frustrating. I had to use the wiretaps in order to get the lights to function...........NOT A FAN of that option. Yes, I have the OEM LED tail lights (Premium LED package).
What part about them "does not fit" - is the connector the wrong type/number?
Or is it just tight like often happens, and why I use dielectric grease on all such connections.
I have found over the years that the same generic part number made by different companies may be not exactly like the same part made by a different company.
One example is a connector shell I used on some restorations -
Jeep Gladiator RAVE REVIEWS ON OUR REAR BUMPER LED REVERSE LIGHTS FOR JEEP GLADIATOR JT 1698516854251

it's the exact same number as the original but the taper is just very slightly different and they don't just fall together.
I found the Oracle connectors to be the correct part number, but if a different manufacturer or source from Jeep, it can make them tight to get plugged together.

That's the only thing I can think of unless you mean it's just not the correct connector number.

I installed them in August of 2021, when my Overland was less than 4 months old. I used their plug & play harness and had no problems with the installation. They work very well, and if they startle anyone behind me, that's fine, as I probably want them to move anyhow!

Oracle's plug and play harness fit and worked on my 22 JT that came with halogen lights. I had already changed all the bulbs in mine over to LED in April of 2022 and used Jscan to change the settings so when installing the reverse lights with adpater nothing extra was needed. The Oracle reverse lights have been in since the first of the year and I've had no problems with them. Oracle has a bad reputation with a lot of people and from the early issues I've read about some of their products, it is understandable, but they have always been good to me. I have their LED bulbs in everything except my headlights and fogs and they have worked great. I had questions about the need for resisters when installing the bulbs and they were very fast and helpful with answers via email.

I was an early adopter of the bumper backup lights. Had them on my 2020 and transferred them to my 2022.
I found the harness a bit short - as did many others.
Oracle was responsive and sent out replacement harnesses.
It was a snugger fit getting the connectors together on my 2020, but my 2022, they slipped in a bit more easily (again, I used dielectric as this is salt country)

Thank you for the replies. I hadn't thought of dielectric grease, I will give that a try. It's the correct connector, because it slides on easily, but I am unable to push it on far enough to get it to "click" into place; forget about sliding up the red tab. I've tried pushing it on with quite a bit of force, but I don't want to screw up the pins or the connector. I've also tried every other tail light; flush mount and OEM and it's a no-go. The same tail light connectors easily connect to the factory harness/connectors. There has to be something not right with the Plug N Play harness. Thanks again for your inputs.

Hi Can you please share a picture? We have not had any instances of the adapter not fitting.

Sorry for the delay. Our tech suggests putting a little extra pressure on it as it is designed for a snug fit and sometimes it requires a little extra force. If that still does not work it is possible that the adapter itself is warped and we can send a replacement.

I have to think to recall how that connector seals - if I recall, there's a seal down in one side of the connector and the mate slides in and against that seal. That needs to be compressed a bit. I hesitate to even suggest this as one must be VERY careful, but I have found "channel lock" pliers opened so the jaws are parallel on each part of the connector and carefully pushing things together that way - sometimes it doesn't take much at all. But I do suggest dielectric grease down into the area of that seal and anywhere the two parts of the connector make contact when mated together to be locked. Some of this may be plastic against plastic, some may be the seal. There's a lot of similar connectors I find I have trouble with that last 1/8" and the pliers - CAREFULLY, using only parallel jaws of channel locks, can take it the last little bit.

I'd say they are too bright to use as reverse lights, especially when combined with the flush mount reverse lights.

Thinking of lightly tinting them or putting a toggle switch. I inadvertently blind people in parking lots when backing up.
In a hack job I wired a spot lamp mounted to the frame next to the trailer hitch into a 7-pin trailer harness backup circuit. My lamp is 1200 lumens and I'd say it's right. Backing up on my road at night is one thing, doing it when there is fog and rain and it's pitch dark at 5pm I definitely need that much light. Blocking off half of the license plate lamps with black plastic also helps reduce the washout of the reverse camera. The lamp helps the rest of the way by boosting the scene lighting to offset the white balance issues from the plate lamps.

Front lamps are the same, you don't need them until you do, and then they are really handy.

They are bright - this picture was taken at about 10 am, full sunshine coming in that east window, the lights near the car were on, and my JT was parked in front of the car about 10 feet or so.

I wired mine so I could turn them on independent of the truck being in reverse so they could be used to light up behind the truck - maybe for loading and strapping down a car, or whatever I needed light for behind the truck.
yes, they are blinding when someone is directly behind you at night and you hit reverse, but..... I find them extremely helpful for our slightly less than straight driveway at night (when backing down and into the garage) or for backing otherwise in the dark. The factory lights are just there for letting someone know you are in reverse, and not much better than that.

I can remember years ago backing my AMX about 1/4 mile backwards in a blizzard in order to take a different turn because the highway ahead was blocked and there was no way to turn around. Wish I had these lights on that car back in 1981.

I've had these since they first came out and I am very pleased with them. They are bright AF and take care of the washout from the license plate lights.

The tazer can black out your lp lights in reverse.

Thanks. I've used as much force as I can generate physically, I just can't get that last little bit in order for it to "click" into place. I went ahead and used the wire taps and they seem to be working okay. I'm going to send the adapter back to Quadratec to see if I can get a refund. I'm really impressed with the lights though, they are very bright and look good even when not on.
