Super excited to have just placed my order for the buttonless black smooth fob and classic key holder!

I can’t believe I had to pay more than the cost of materials. I was expecting it to cost $10 plus shipping... BAHAHAHAHA

$50 ($45 shipped for buttonless black) seems super reasonable to me considering the design and engineering process. Definitely worth it to a guy like me who has no power locks and wants his pocket back.

I’ll be buying the waterproof version too when it comes out. And then I’ll sell my factory fobs on eBay for a profit.

Thank you for developing and producing something we all needed, @crdouglass3

Thank you for your time an effort in bringing this to the market. They might be a tad on the expensive side, but at the end of the day my pocket knows they are worth it.

Until your warranty on the JT runs out, do keep the stock fob shell.....

IF, there is ever any issue with the stock fob guts you put into the DI Labs fob (button dies or what ever) you will need to put the guts back into the stock fob shell and then go to dealer and have them replace the whole stock fob... to include programming the fobs.

I had a fob that I had transitioned, 8-) to an AJT Designs fob and ithe remote start button on it stopped working,,.... Luckily, I had kept the stock shell so was able to revert back to stock fob and get dealer to warranty a replacement,
I was just kidding. I planned on keeping it. I was just gonna give to next owner down the road.

But, I'm glad you mentioned it anyway. I wasn't thinking of any future warranty issues. So, good call. ?

ordered mine, 3 button, orange, leather texture...however i asked for smooth finish in the comment to seller box as it didn't give me the option for smooth, way to go team

and to whoever complains about the price...really? you could make them more affordable then go ahead, we just watched the process from start to finish including months of rant threads to get it started, and you think 50 bucks is too much? not sure what to say to that, build your own and put it to market and see what time it is i guess

For those with pricing feedback.

There are two issues here as I see it.....

1. Is the fob priced too high? Only you can decide that. The AJT is $37.99 from their store. The Factory fob is $0.00 (comes with the truck).

2. Perceived profit and cost. There is a lot of misconceptions about 3D printing and the associated costs because there is so much coverage of desktop printers with open-source materials. That is not what we use. Our materials are roughly two magnitudes more costly than injection materials (even with the recent commodity price surge).

For fun, I did some competitive pricing of 3D printing firms and found the price of the fobs to be 25% - 75% more expensive than we are charging. So if you designed you're own version and had another service bureau print them for you - you'd be paying 25% - 75% more. That assumes the design and development cost would be free. There are less than a handful of companies that have the printing and post-processing equipment to produce the fobs as they are designed (several steps of mechanical and chemical post-processing after printing). To say it is intense would be an understatement.

None of this is meant to persuade you to purchase the Threedom key fob but instead meant to inform you of how we approached this initiative. This is truly a passion project. If it were solely profit-driven we would have not done it or we'd just design a simple injection molded fob.

I am proud to be part of the Jeep community and this project has been especially rewarding to work with so many passionate enthusiasts.

......Says the guy with a 5-figure key fob (because all the design and development cost is in mine) ???
I am willing to pay the price, but I expected to be able to get a separate color for the buttons so I can read them. Sorry, but at 50+ my eyes don't work as well as they used to. I don't use the fob often, but when the door proximity messes up I need to. When that happens, I actually have to look at the fob, because I don't use it often enough to remember the button configuration. When it is pouring rain and the button on the door doesn't work, I don't want to be playing Russian Roulette.

This was part of the reason I chose the white camo and then attempted to add the red for buttons, but ended up more orange. Still bad ass and keeps em easy to see. Sounds like to get it like mine there may be a delay though.

I’d skimmed that one a bit. Guess what I meant is seeing the photos of the different prints and finishes on the actual product. I have a feeling I’ll wind up with 2 (one soonish, and one of the waterproof ones later).

I’m indecisive as hell to begin with and there’s at least 3 prints that I’m interested in. Probably should just buy one of each ?

The blue Model M+ is a production run that I'm currently carrying around.

Bonus - when you drop off your JT at the dealer or for valet parking , you can lock the consol and keep the key in your pocket when you hand over the fob. Try that with the factory fob!

As a software designer, I get that you can't please everyone. I have ordered one because it is miles better than anything else on the market.

How do I order one like Lucky's? His is exactly what I wanted to order button color and text wise.

As for the costs, any product brought to market has pre-production costs. With the horrible design of the OEM FOB I am sure there will be enough of these sold to recoup costs.

If you haven't already, you should start a thread on the JL forum. There are more users on there. You might also consider going to Jeep Beach next month. Not sure what the turnout will be.

Please let us know when the color button options are available, or when I can order one similar to Lucky's. I will probably replace my original order at that time.

Thanks for the quick design and production time.
