Just stumbled onto a new Fox shock offering for the JT? https://www.ridefox.com/product.php...p&model=Gladiator+JT&year=2022&position=Front

I can't find anything else online for info, but a 2.5 resi for $330? Could be a good solution for those who cant justify the $1500pr for the Elites, but have vehicles that are 5K+lbs and need the control of a 2.5" piston? I can't say that topping out has been an issue for us on the JT platform assuming properly sized and valved shocks, but it's another option!

From the pic, could that be a 2.5" body with a 2.0" resi? Would make it easy to retrofit the CD clicker to add some adjustability.

I don't see it mentioned anywhere that it is a remote resi shock, BUT Northridge has them on the website already..
Specs for the front are perfect for saving your front driveshaft..

You could be correct on it not being a resi.....the pic that comes up is probably just generic. Yes that standard 28.5"ish length is prefect for a stock driveshaft. Looking at the travel in comparison to the 2.5 Elite, the stroke is 1.2" less despite the same extended length and that would support that it's just a monotube IFP.

I've been holding out on the special charging bolt tool needed to service the IFP's, but this might push me over the edge since it's one more offering I could service with it.

Another interesting observation is that there are 2 different part numbers listed for front JT 987-24-018 and JL 987-24-014. The listed physical dimensions are the same.........Could they finally be offering us different valving codes for our heavier steer axles?

Good question. I wonder if these are more related to the 2.5" shocks in the original mopar lift?

Been a while since I updated this thread.......Just been so busy with this new shock tuning venture along with the axle/suspension shop while still working alone. I'm still fine tuning current projects and gathering info on various shock brands I work on. I save all of the spread sheets and that has proven to be invaluable in pretty much nailing new tunes for clients who have different vehicle types.

Another drag has been that my wife was diagnosed with stage 3+ neuroendocrine cancer in Jan during her first colonoscopy at age 48, so that has taken a bit of time too. Overall, the cancer has seemed to be a best case scenario where is was caught before stage 4 which required removing 18" of her intestine, but no chemo/radiation treatment! Were just in monitoring for now.......Thankful for that.

She decided that she wanted to start riding motorcycles with me, so we picked her up a Can Am Spyder. Well.....wouldn't you know it? The suspension sucks out of the box!!!! We ended up swapping on a heavier sway bar and now Elka shocks. Working with them on dialing in the proper spring rates for people who have added or will be adding the sway bar! Waiting on springs right now........

Anyway.....Thinking about a more economical shock platform for the guys who aren't into hardcore drive fast in hot weather. Been doing a lot of work with the Fox 2.0 Resi shocks and also adding the CD clicker to the applications that can't be ordered as such. Any interest? I'd buy a set to install on my truck and start tuning those if it seems like there is a demand. Not everyone can afford 3,000 for a set of Fox 2.5's or $4600 for E-Cliks, but still desire a controlled sporty ride on a loaded truck?

I'll update with some pics later.....Gotta go pick up the latest JT build front the alignment shop, so the owner can get back on the road home.........

Oh ya....websites. My wife and I are not web designers, but she has done a pretty good job putting them together. Majority of the tech info in on the https://www.overlandvehicledynamics.com/ home page. I just hammered out some stuff that made me sound like I might know a thing or two despite being a dumb high skool dropout. It's not perfect since I wrote it and Tracie put it on the site....I have no idea how to edit the small stuff myself........I'm a better tech than office hand? 😂

What do we have here.....Hmmm

A local on a Clayton suspension and Falcon SP2s who is unhappy with the ride/rocking?

This could be a good thing for a lot of people IF we can work together on this project?

But Clayton and Falcon are the pinnacle of design......
I know you are joking? ;)

Yes, I do feel they are both a high quality product, but I also feel they don't play well together? It's all a matter of getting the shocks tuned for the higher than average ride frequency the heavy Clayton springs deliver.

After all......Shocks/dampers are just frequency changers?

Just being a smart ass, cause the general consensus is just do a clayton lift and slap on some falcons and all is right in the world. I am glad you are looking at this in detail and seeing issues.

I do like me some Clayton spring rates for hauling loads! I wouldn't say the suspension kit itself is revolutionary, but it is top tier where the components are concerned. This is why I have chosen Clayton over everything else on the market.

I could use MC, Evo, or any of the other quality components combined with Clayton springs to get a great result though.

This guy told me he did all the research and this is the package he came up with as "The Best". I have done work for him in the past, but he didn't come to me for this job....Maybe because Clayton never added me to the dealer locator. They have pretty much zero presence up here in NorCal....I sent them an email this morning hoping to get added?

I feel bad because I could have set him up right out of the gate with a badass package without having to pay twice.

What did you end up doing for shocks on this one? Ditch the falcons?

I haven't done anything to the truck yet in regards to the suspension. It's here for a gear swap, but he mentioned at check in that his wife wasn't happy with the rocking on the highway.

I noted on the roadtest how rough it felt on the small square edged bumps and the rebound was a bit lacking, but the rocking wasn't as bad as I expected. The shocks are all set to #1 (soft) so I know there is improvement in the rocking to be had, but the question will be how much rougher it will make the small bump comfort/compliance?

When it hits the ground, I will try other settings and see if I can come up with a middle ground. If not, maybe we pull them apart and work some magic?
