Meaningless since it isn't going to be posted until the 11th! Today this 9th of June in the year 2026 exactly ZERO VINs are affected!
That's the public release of VIN's. Dealers can definitely see affected VIN's before we can. How can they say how many affected without having some of an idea.

Well, if I gotta take mine in, I might as well let them fix the paint bubbles at the same time!

On a positive note, does anyone know of a gladiator just catching fire? It seems like this would be the place to hear about it if it was super common. Oh, I know it is a concern or they wouldn’t perform the recall but I am not losing sleep over this. And I am retired so taking a vehicle in for recall work isn’t nearly an inconvenient as someone that has to juggle time off of work and/or child care. Even with two gladiators, it will all be alright. The pros still outweigh the cons!
Yes, there were discussions a while ago about a few trucks catching fire for an unknown reason. The p/s circuit and connector were suspected. In fact, I recall seeing a pic where some rodents actually chewed on the supply wires. I also remember a forum member's truck catching fire while driving down the road. Another caught fire after sitting for a week or so. I can't recall what to search for.

Honestly, just about any newer vehicle could have a fire--they are so intricate with a ton of sensors and wires. What ticks me off is the fact that it took a long time for Jeep to act.

I remember a post over on the JL forum about a short and melted connector at the pump. My guess is water got passed the connector oring/gasket.

They can't throw too many stones-they have trouble designing rear brake hoses, LOL.
They have been overated for years. They have been living off the past for years and people just assume it is good because it is a Toyota.. Most boring brand ever IMHO

The word 'definitly' is definitely doing some heavy lifting but sure.

They can say it's 1m because that's how many they sold so it's all encompassing. For whatever legal reasons that seems to be the norm now for all manuf and then they whittle it down once they get more data as people starting rolling them into the shop.

I mean, do you think jeep is going to replace a million of these pumps and wiring harnesses? Not saying it's impossible but, seems unlikely.

Anyway, to the other post. Definitely not losing sleep about it. Have a huge trip coming in a few days and nothing about this will stop it. Even better is I know where the thing is now so on the 1% of 1% of .01% chance it hits me I know right where to hit it with the extinguisher. 🤣

Finally found it, search for this discussion-US investigating 781K Jeeps over underhood fire reports (Wrangler & Gladiator) -- power steering pump electrical connector issue

...and here I was today worrying about my LiPo setting the JT on fire while out with my pup running the RCs.

Guess who's checking in a couple days for the recall.
- Posted a while back about the PS being wonky when off-roading sometimes (intermittent PS) and someone suggested I check the Ground TSB for it (still haven't yet).

So we have 1,076,999 vehicles affected, 51 known fires, and an estimated 0.1% of the vehicles expected to have an actual defect. Nope, not going to lose one bit of sleep over leaving the truck in the garage.

My wife and I came to the same conclusion.

I would not shed a tear if mine was to self combust......wouldn't have to deal with the dealership on the motor replacement under warranty

I'd be really bummed if ours became totaled. We've owned 5 Jeeps and this one is my absolute favorite. I have no plans to sell the Gladiator, plus they no longer make the diesel. :(
