Was there recently an over the air update on our Uconnect systems or something? All of a sudden, I'm getting a "Device not supported" error when I have my Samsung A51 plugged in. It worked fine for the 2 months since I bought the truck, and now this, womp. No dice. I changed the cord thinking there was an issue there, but that did not fix it.

There have been no updates. The Device not Supported message is usually an issue with the USB cable. This system seems to be very sensitive to cable quality. It can also be an issue with the connector on the bottom of the phone. Try some canned air and a new high quality cable. Also, if it gets any moisture in the connector, it will not work until completely dry.

This might sound like a strange question, but is your phone still paired with Uconnect? I've had a few times randomly my phone doesn't show it's paired with (or even remembers) Uconnect and the radio doesn't show it in the list, either. Not sure which one is the culprit, but when that happens I get no AA at all... and I've also gotten the "Device not supported" a few times.

Saw that once in a while and yes, a new $25 cable seems to have resolved it for me - so far...........
It's nothing to do with any update (there haven't been any, like you said already)
It's always been sort of random. Sometimes disconnecting and connecting into a different port worked, but the final fix was the expensive cable.

I get this "Device not Supported" message every once in a while. If I have the bluetooth turned off on my phone.

Yup, still paired. Currently using Bluetooth. It's just when I plug it in.

Yeah, I'm currently using Bluetooth to play my music and texts, so it's not a Bluetooth issue. I'm guessing it's a cable issue at this point.

I've had that happen on my Ram's U Connect too. Worth a shot to re-pair the device.

I've had luck recovering a problematic USB-C connector by cleaning it out with a toothpick and compressed air. I find lint accumulates in the bottom and prevents some cables from fully seating.

Yep - the c connectors are really picky that way. Deal with that on phones and other devices. I have to watch the USB connections on the tablet that controls my wife's Intelliquilter CNC device - the tablet sits with the USB ports sitting straight up and cotton fabric is linty........... I need to try to find some sort of nylon plug that goes into a USB port to cover or protect it without any connections at all. Add the dust that gets into Jeeps and other vehicles...........
This is almost always a "cable issue" be it cable itself or the connections.
Solved mine with new expensive cable.
Plus this new cable has a 90 degree C connector on one end so when the phone is in the holder on the dash, the cable goes off to one side and not straight down across things.

Agreed... which I've had to do multiple times ?‍♂
