I went with RLD for my 21 Sport S. Similar to RSE and Alumicab. Been very happy with it. use mine to haul our kayaks and protect the dog when we go out bird hunting..

Very nice. I haven’t seen this one.
If you check with some of the dealers one might have one still in stock, I lucked into the one I got when I was just wanting information about it and RSI model. I sent emails no response so I dialed them up, and the RDL Distributor was trying to clear out old stock Gen 2 for Gen 3 (but it was a first Gen) I actually got with sliding side windows for less due to having white doors, quick trip to Line-X fixed it.

) actually it turned out to be a better option for me and less than 2k shipped. Note to that it's same as used for different truck (I think). I do get dust intrusion and some water leaking at times. When I hooked up cap brake light it the turn signal on trailer wouldn't work or on truck. so that was disconnected.

I thought the RSI or Alu CAB were better options except for $$$ or some of the problems at first with RSI model.

I kinda know and understand that. But part of the reason for me is damn knees dont like getting up from low positions anymore. I do have a screen room with drop sides that hooks to awning. I've used it a few times and a hammock when bugs are not so bad or certain weather. My Tent-Cot, I've found it works good setup on trailer with 4wheeler parked next to it. My backpack tent is or was good in the past. I did sleep in my Comanche bed though its longer. After one trip in Mississippi and the big ass roaches coming out of a tree I had tied off my hammock to I had call that one. I guess the rain was flooding them out. ??? I despise roaches and palmetto bugs AKA big ass roaches that can fly.

I got a bottle just in case, I've found when you get up off the ground a slight distance less bugs. Note above comment. I can deal with most things but not them so much. Now bad enough weather can be a P.T.A with a R.T.T. especially mine, a square pop-up one. I really wanted the wedge type with aluminum shell. Here tonight wouldn't be fun rain, wind gusts up to 40 mph in 40s and dropping to freezing in morning. Oh mine didn't cost but 1200. w S&H. Sometimes a phone calls can save you money Camping World was doing a closeout, the company I ordered from originally started playing games with price and S&H.

Damn now I'm thinking I need to sample something from my liquor cabinet quite a few I've had for over 23 years. Real corked bottles will start evaporating even being unopened, and the cork will fall apart when removing it.

I just bought the ARE Classic with the rails, slide front and sides, OTR coating, these are built like a tank and much lighter than the metal caps. I have no desire to sleep in a roof tent! I will be carrying a couple of canoes up there though… Best looking cap for the Gladiator…

That topper is in a town close to me, I could go by there measure, evaluate ease-of-modification & take more pics. Sides look fairly square (don’t lean in as far as many do) Once you paint it black it will disappear anyway ?

I have a thread on my ARE CX Classic here if you're looking for some info on that brand and model. I answered some questions for folks, put a rack on it and offered that info as well as did some tailgate seal to help with dust intrusion.

Just came across this on Instagram... This is different.

Jeep Gladiator Shadow Top (Fastback) Truck Cap

IMG_5669.PNG
I've seen this type posted on www for a few years. Good for some out there, not one I'd look at twice. I've had the "privilege" of living out of a similar setup..... Mil. Humvee for extended time with a few others.

Good for some I'd guess but much wasted space if hauling much gear. Would be a good mall crawler or grocery getter.

This looks great! Caries twice the weight of the Alu-cab and the key options are included in the base price through February. They also have a local dealer here! Definitely going to check this out. https://venturoustrucktops.com/exclusivelaunchoffer/
Where did you find the weight rating/ specs on this? I could not find much useful info on their website. I like the looks of this one but being new is a bit worrisome. I think it will be between tis and an Alu- cab contour.
