I have used turo a couple of times to rent a Porsche. It was a great experience. Each time I rented it from a 20 something entrepreneurial kid. I couldn't imagine what I would do at that age with awesome Porsche!? Gives them the opportunity to own an amazing vehicle and me the ability to rent it for biz or vacation. Win win!

Just ordered my Gladiator yesterday. I'm actually about to sign up for Turo not to rent out my Gladiator, but my prius in hopes that it'll pay off both car payments. All hell would break loose before I let anyone drive my truck. Renters can beat the hell out of my prius for all I care as long as it makes me money.
I think that’s a good use for a Prius!

I really cannot see the upside to this. I would imagine there is other liabilities of insurance and impact to warranty for using it in commercial use.

I can imagine the guy you rented it to running every red light in the city a month later you have 16 running red light tickets with a picture of your tag in the mail. Lol how would you get out of that one

Is anyone here familiar with Turo.com? I haven't looked for a Gladiator really yet, but am curious if anyone is renting theirs out a little each month to pay for upgrades, or have you with other cars? It seems like a great way to get a more extended drive of a Gladiator, or a way to offset your car payment. I feel like this is a vehicle which can command a premium (at least in the near term) if you're willing to let someone else put miles on your baby. I'm on the fence.
I am a card-carrying Certified, post-grad "Road Warrior". You get your card when you cross 1 Million miles of air travel and I got nearly 2 million.

Think I have any time in a Rental Car...YA THINK!!!

Do you really want to rent a car from a Hard Core Jeeper who actually took his rental car, not Jeep to the Rubicon trail, heck I got more time on trails in a rental car that a lot of Jeepers have in a Jeep.

Drive it like a rented Mule.

This probably goes without saying, but if you lease your Gladiator then I think you don't have the option. I'm pretty sure renting out your leased vehicle is a violation of the contract.

Anyhow, I'm with the others, no way I'd ever do it. Ever. I let my wife drive it, with a warning not to scratch it, and that's about all.

First post nails it.
+1. My youngest (millennial) brother has used a few of these services and beats the hell out of high end vehicles. In no way do I support that behavior but I know how I treated the Mustang convertible I got the last time I rented a vehicle for work. I would love to rent this guys' JT on my next trip to the OBX. I am really going to push the limits of water fording. I will pay for the insurance on the rental just in case things don't go as planned.

Anyone want to rent me one in the Cleveland, OH area this weekend? Looking to purchase but would like a longer test drive :like:

I would not rent out my Gladiator, wife, son, cat, or best friend.
That’s a very specific list of things you would not rent out. Does that mean everything else is up for negotiation?

one of my sales guys rented his Giulia (spelling it s sports car) out with some success for a few months and then some dickhead thrashed it. It took Turo 6 months to pay him out and he had to eat 6 months of payments in the process
