Rock Krawler drag link hits flipped stabilizer.

Was rotating tires and noticed that my new drag link was contacting the steering stabilizer. I had the single relocation bolt that replaces your track bar bolt. I happened to have a Clayton relocation bracket so I put that in instead. I have slightly more clearance now, but it will still contact at an extreme turn. I can't find info on how to adjust steeeing stops. Anyone have that info? I don't see how I can get this to clear with this drag link and top mount stabilizer, so it looks like that's the plan.

I'm also going to see if there would be enough clearance if I moved the mount back toward the passenger tire. I may end up having to make a new bracket.

Awesome thanks. I think I may move the drag link to a to mount, but this will get me by until I can get the new rod end. Going to take some measurements and see what looks like the best solution.

Looks like people are having trouble with these RK bars fitting non-OEM location stabilizers.
Roky on the JL forum wrote up a bit on this and his fix with a flipped metalcloak bracket. That would be a little bit lower than the Clayton bracket.

I ended up grinding a relief in my 2 inch aluminum bar after talking to RPM steering who said a small relief in the non thread section wouldn't make a difference

I'm not sure how I didn't see those when I looked. Was tired lol. Well, it made contact at like 15 degrees of turn. I plug welded the holes in the relocation bracket and redrilled it 12mm closer to the axle, shaved the mount, and can get to 30 degrees of steering. That's still not enough. I'm going to look at rotating the mount to the opposite side of the axle as shown in that link. Appreciate the ideas.

I had a track bar bolt mount on first and it did hit. The clayton mount was a touch better on clearance

Hello, this is a known issue. I tried many mounting configurations including the one you are showing. The configuration RPM steering recommends with their 2" Aluminum drag link and tie rod is the only one that worked for me with no interference at all articulation angles. I am running a Clayton 3.5 inch lift, and I believe a lift is required. I am using the Synergy track bar bolt combination stabilizer mount. You have to spend time to adjust it propoerly - tilt the steering stabilizer back a little, but, it does not have interference issues. See pics. .

Note: I drilled out my own flat fender washers to use on the end of the stabilizer mount - so as not to lose the rubber washers.

I need to go back to this post and reassess. I think you were on to something as shown in the last post. The track bolt mount I was using had a threaded end with a nut. The Synergy one should save a little room due to the internal threads.

Awesome, you have a similar setup. I am at a 4" list using Synergy springs currently. I'll get one of those coming and see if I can get it all to play nicely. Appreciate it!

Yes, I am using the synergy track mount stud bolt... plus the two drilled out fender washers. I updated my post. Thanks.

I love the aluminum but I HATE jam nuts. Sadly switched from an aluminum TR & DL to a Synergy setup. Perfect. The hardened chrome Molly steel tie rod will be just fine. Adjust it once and forget about it.
