Thanks. Just ordered it. Someone on here said the cover gaskets are reusable. Do you know if this is true? If my sensors are black, ( I was having problems with the rear one. ) will I be able to drain the oil out or should I try and have a new sensor on hand?

Yes, the diff cover gaskets are reusable, they are rubber/steel and actually quite nice.

If the sensor is oil saturated but not causing faults, it can be saved. If its faulted already, odds are against it working again.

You'd drill holes to pott the sensor, blast out the the sensor with QD Contact Cleaner only. This is circuit board safe, and will remove all oil. Just gently blow it out/air dry before potting.

Thanks for the help. Going to deal with this very soon.
Read and re read https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/locker-position-sensor-potting-dana-44.59581/
as #17 Mtpisgah posted.

My son and wife thought I was crazy doing this. I didn’t tell them I was drilling into perfectly good sensors worth a combined $1100 cad and inject them with black gooo that warns of its ability to wipe out my abilities to produce children if it gets on my skin or if I decide to put the injector in my mouth and drink it.

I admit to being a tad nervous yanking on the sensor after removing that one torx bit but there’s nothing else to unscrew or unbolt. I was then even more nervous when it came time to drill the holes so I wrapped tape around the bit so I could only go very shallow and no further. Take your time here.

All in all, it went well for me and was very satisfying to clean up the diff internals. Tried the lockers again today after driving all over the city and they engage at the second symbol blink. I couldn’t be happier.

Good luck to you!
