Just drove home a new-to-us 2019 Thor Majestic 28A. Before we start ordering half of Amazon of things we THINK we need, I figured I'd ask those way more experienced in the world of RV'ing and flat-towing.

What are some accessories you can't live without? What are some things that aren't on any "top 10" lists? What things would current 'you' tell past 'you' to get? Or not skimp on?

We already have the Blue Ox tow bars and Patriot braking system for flat-towing our Mojave. I'll just need to get the Deadman switch and wiring harness that'll allow me to use the Jeep's taillights and not have to use aux lights.

Thanks!!

Solar, LiFepo batteries, and a good inverter......Quality comfortable chairs. Top priorities being a boondocker.

I suggest you start with minimal stuff while using your rig and decide what you really need. Camping World is mostly full of junk to fill your cabinets with causing an overloading condition.

Nice coach. I have a 30 year old Damon Hornet 24' but I use a trailer because there is a good possibility that my Jeep could suffer trail damage where flat towing would be an issue.

For the camper, A good set of leveling blocks, 50A to 30A adapter, 30A to 110V adapter and a good 30A extension cord, 25' minimum. For towing, I like having 2 backup cameras, one that looks at the ball and a higher one for general rear view use. I have a video switch so I can use the same monitor. A light on the back for hooking up at night.

Solar panels are really nice to have when you don't have hookups and don't want to use the genny.

You're not the first to say that but it's worth repeating. Luckily we've been camping for years so we're def going to use our lighter-weight camp chairs and cooking set-ups.

Solar and upgraded batteries are def the way to go...thank you!

This is great!

I'm def eyeing a new double din radio with a screen that has various inputs. One camera is def a necessity. Never thought of two. Thanks!

Another thing that is I feel is essential is a couple of GMRS hand held radios. Very useful when positioning the coach and if you don't have auto levelers, then buy a Levelmate. It connects to your phone and tells you when you are level and how much each corner is off.

I love my Anderson levelers and the Travelmate Pro. It makes leveling my trailer very easy. A backup camera is a must. At a campsite you might have a spotter but in a bunch of other cases it becomes useful in getting in and out of tight spots. I also rely on the wireless TST tire pressure monitoring system. You will always be sure your tires are not overheating or running low.

Are you talking about the basics needed to use the camper or the nice to haves? One of our necessities is a portable ice maker. Can’t camp without it.

I can't live without my Keurig (well, it's actually a Cuisinart) and a 3K sine wave inverter to run it when camping without hookups. My old generator is really loud so early in the morning, I'll plug it into the inverter to make my coffee. I do the same with the pellet smoker at night. I really only use the genny if it's been cloudy all day on a long weekend and the 2 house batteries can't keep up.

I do have a French Press style k cup coffee maker as a backup.

Extend A Stay. Lets you plumb in a 30 lb propane tank into your propane system. Great for when your on-board tank runs out. Or you need an extra propane hook up.

Any dinnerware. Make light weight and unbreakable. The more cookware you have. The less storage space for food.

Oh this is money….thank you!!

I stayed at a Sun Outdoors in Moab this past July. Outside of going to the desert in the summer being the dumbest idea I’ve ever had, the campground and facilities were clean.

And the forums are clutch. Just wasn’t sure which ones were the “better” ones. Thank you!!

We like the Garmin RV series GPS units. And they have most legal off-road trails as well. Add a Delorme atlas for a good overview.
