I don’t believe any Jeep dealer does their own glass work. They all farm out to another vendor

From what I’ve read here the ONLY way to replace is to shatter it. I’ve seen stories of people finding glass in the back months later.

YMMV though.

And this is all second hand info, I’ve not needed it in the 4000 miles on my jeep yet.

Yeah, pretty much this. I have yet hear or see of anybody that had their old window removed without destroying it in some respect.

I had mine replaced on my 2020 Gladiator. My advice for anybody having it done is to thoroughly inspect the work inside and out. That means check the upper inside back trim and to also inspect your hard top for any cracks and especially around the arch area on the door opening as I suspect many installs will use the arch area opening on the hard top as hand hold brace area when pushing or kicking out the back window. I noticed cracking on mine only months after the window was replaced and was told to pound sand on bringing back and trying to claim the window installers did the damage.

Safelite replaced my front windshield after a rock ate it…OEM gorilla glass. Took 45 minutes in my driveway. insurance claim. No issues. I have always had great service from them…although when I saw what the insurance company paid them I nearly choked.

I tried to make a warranty claim on the gorilla glass and the dealer was super sketchy about it. After numerous attempts to claim a warranty repair and schedule a repair I gave up and made the insurance claim.

I found a trickle leak in my rear glass last week. Based on my previous (shitty) dealer experience I’m just going to fix it myself with the 7mm silicone tubing hack.

My LE had a horrible leak. They replaced at dealer via 3rd party. They scratched top and messed up headliner. Not too mention I had to totally remove my fab fours rack off the truck because they wouldn’t take the top off with it on there. Horrible experience.
It didn’t leak after replacement. Just an annoying situation.

Mine started leaking at around 6k miles and after reading all of the horror stories there was only one option for me and that was DIY. No way I was having them break the glass or eff up my hardtop.

Bought the exact same stuff in this post:
https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...e-their-top-scratched-seats-ripped-etc.66403/

Did it myself in about 20 min. I didn't use any kind of special tools, did it by hand with some water/alcohol spray as lube and it honestly couldn't have been easier to do.

Over a year later and another 5k miles - Fix is still good as new, stuff has not moved and never had another leak. I'll replace as needed going forward and couldn't be happier (well I could be happier since it shouldn't be leaking in the first place.:))

A good installer can remove the rear window without shattering it. I had my rear window replaced about a year and a half ago in San Antonio, TX. I had it replaced with a Breezer one piece removable window. Nothing was wrong with it, I just wanted something different.

The installer removed mine without damage. I still have it. Fully intact. Dirty as hell from sitting outside though. šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚

I can't speak for any other company anywhere else, but East End Glass Company in San Antonio, TX can remove it without damaging it.

I used the weather strip trick to fix mine more than ten thousand miles ago. No issue since.

That being said Safelite did two rear windows on my previous JK and were great to deal with. Left my Jeep in cleaner condition than when they arrived.
