I donāt believe any Jeep dealer does their own glass work. They all farm out to another vendorHI there, I took my Jeep back to the dealer because of the infamous rear windows leak, they are offering me repair through Safelite, was wondering if anyone here has experience with them? things I should be aware of? thanks
Yeah, pretty much this. I have yet hear or see of anybody that had their old window removed without destroying it in some respect. From what Iāve read here the ONLY way to replace is to shatter it. Iāve seen stories of people finding glass in the back months later.
A good installer can remove the rear window without shattering it. I had my rear window replaced about a year and a half ago in San Antonio, TX. I had it replaced with a Breezer one piece removable window. Nothing was wrong with it, I just wanted something different. From what Iāve read here the ONLY way to replace is to shatter it. YMMV though.
And this is all second hand info, Iāve not needed it in the 4000 miles on my jeep yet.
I can't speak for any other company anywhere else, but East End Glass Company in San Antonio, TX can remove it without damaging it.Yeah, pretty much this. I have yet hear or see of anybody that had their old window removed without destroying it in some respect.
I had mine replaced on my 2020 Gladiator. My advice for anybody having it done is to thoroughly inspect the work inside and out. That means check the upper inside back trim and to also inspect your hard top for any cracks and especially around the arch area on the door opening as I suspect many installs will use the arch area opening on the hard top as hand hold brace area when pushing or kicking out the back window. I noticed cracking on mine only months after the window was replaced and was told to pound sand on bringing back and trying to claim the window installers did the damage.
