Hello! Second time around with this issue. I searched extensively online and what I found out is very daunting and was essentially confirmed by my dealer (in not such a nice way.) The Info Display flashes "Service 4WD System" and the little orange icon lights up for about three seconds and goes out. No codes are being sent. I've read that this is a sensor issue and that Jeep essentially has no answer for it. They can replace the sensor but it will come back. Mine came back 4 months after initial repair. If @JeepCares my dealer is Nielsen in E. Hanover and they were kind enough to tell me that I could bring it in in April! The are understaffed and "every Jeep is having this issue, they are swamped with the issue." I need my vehicle every day and they told me there's a waitlist for a loaner but if I want to leave it, they could diagnose it but it will take 4-5 business days (WTH??) Oh, I'm still waiting for the service mgr, Roland to give me a call. Not likely. Two calls this past weekend went unreturned and with 8 minutes to go, I'm not epxecting my call back today either.

I cannot have this keep happening. Anyone else having this issue and perhaps any good ideas on a possible fix?

Currently very disappointed in the treatment and the recent experience with Jeep (this is roughly my 11th Jeep and 4th with this dealer.) I'm seriously considering selling trading the JTLE for a Ram Rebel and calling it a day...

Thanks for listening!

What makes you think Ram will have less problems?
Try another dealership.
My dealership gives me a loner.

Thanks for the reply. There's a waitlist for a loaner thanks to the dealership being swamped by Jeeps with this issue amongst their other repairs. Ram will not have this problem because they didn't put these stupid sensors in the diffs on the Ram. This is a chronic problem. I don't really feel like having this light and the "bing" happening everytime I accelerated from a stop. It's kind of annoying. Curiously, I drove around town in 4HI for about 3 miles and nothing lit up or sounded.

I see you have a '20 as well. Mine's a Rubi and I hear this problem is prevalent, but not specific to Rubis. I'm guessing by your reply you've not had this issue?

Ram also won't have doors and top that will come off.

People Work?
Is it the transfer case switch, or the rear gear sensor that people are potting?

It's my understanding that if it is a problem with the diff locker sensor, then you will get a "Service Axle Locker System" message on the dash and not simply the "SERV 4WD" light.

Thanks to you and everyone for the replies! So frustrating as I was thinking of trying the Z-Locker sensor bypass (developed with AMW4x4 for their mods/applications) but no one can confirm that it will work. $178/sensor is a bit much for a "not sure" solution. As I said, I actually did some local driving this morning in 4H and nothing at all, but it back to 2H and accelerated from a light and "my friend" was back!

Not sure. I wish I knew. So frustrating. In the summer, Jeep was assuming it was a speed sensor issue. Now I'm hearing about this diff sensor issue. Would really like to go back to my first two "trouble free" years with this vehicle. Outside of 35s, zero mods. Makes no sense.

I've seen posts about it being the switch on the T case and about it being the diff sensor.
I guess either could throw a light or code.
