Thanks for the info, definitely thinking diesel over gas since will be towing my Rzr XP4 and trailer which with gear and everything should be 3500-4000 lbs. Planning on going with 2-3" lift and 37's so with gas would have to regear to tow anywhere up in the mountains. The diesel should be a big help towing over Vail and Berthoud pass.

I'll be testing this very setup soon with my ~3,500 lb camper ... 2" lift on 37's with stock 3.73 gears in North Denver. Was the main reason for me waiting for the diesel to be available on the JT!

Question for you, @WXman... what do you look for when buying DEF? Local Walmart has two types on the shelf, super tech at $7 for 2.5 gal and blue def at $13, same size.

I buy the least expensive jugs of DEF I can find that are stamped with the proper ISO standard listed in the owners manual. I think it's 22241 but don't quote me on that. Most shelf DEF has a 1 year guarantee also, so it doesn't hurt to have 1 additional jug in your inventory at home for when you take a long trip or something. Currently my Walmart sells this for roughly $7 per 2.5 gallon jug.

OK, to provide feedback on my cold weather DEF issues, here's what has happened to date. Codes thrown, p20c6-00 and p208b-00 which were addressed with part # 68438682AA pump which I am told includes the heater. Second service to address service DEF system resulted in change out of hose, part # 68335685AC which is supposed to have a check valve to keep residue Def from staying in the line to freeze, based on star case approval for line replacement per Jeep engineer. So' without any single digit cold weather to test out, I hope I get a full summer and fall without a trip back to the service department for any issues. Just FYI for any of you folks still in cold country that might be having issues. Good luck!

I'm pulling a 3000 lb RV with my Diesel and it pulls it like a dream. No high 4th gear downshifts like in the gas engine to maintain 60 mph on hills or wind. Very satisfied with the diesel option for enjoyable mid- size RV camper towing.

Ok. A little exhausted trying to read the entirety of this post. I'm looking to buy a JT diesel soon. Seems like the biggest issue is the DEF fluid freezing. I live in Phoenix. So this shouldn't be an issue?!?
I know it's early, but does anyone know of any proposed changes to the 2022 diesel model? Hopefully they have worked out all the bugs by then.

It's not just DEF freezing though it seems that is the bulk of the problems. Some have had bad pumps and/or injector.

Either way it seems like running one in warmer weather would increase the odds of avoiding a def system problem.

Haven't heard if 2022 will bring any changes for the ecodiesel.

Still pondering what my ask is going to be from the dealer I bought it from. Extended warranty on them/discounted? Labor on a 2” MOPAR lift? Etc. It will probably depend on what I hear from the local dealer tomorrow about what the issue actually is.

Got a 5 year/100,000 mile maximum care warranty with a $100 deductible out of it for $323 (25% of cost). Hopefully I don’t have to use it and hopefully the pump issue has already been taken care of. ??

Feeling pretty good about the diesel purchase now. At least for the next 5 years... ?

Never understand why you get 7yr/100K on a CPO but not on a brand new. At least they took care of you and made it right.

Yes, will be staying stock as I don't expect to b e off roading at all. Maybe a gravel road to a camp site but that's All.?

Right, just asking for a apples to apples comparison. I added the lift and 37's at 500 miles in February in Colorado so I never got a chance to tow with the stock setup.
