That's where the power is, in the upper rpm band. Offroad+ in 4hi is meant for desert running, dune climbing, and situations where you need lots of power and wheel spin. I wouldn't use it just puttering around the beach.

Also, there is a subtle difference between high load vs high rpm. High rpm with low load isn't necessarily "running it hard".
Off-road plus also makes the brake lock differential more aggressive, which is a good use on the beach. I use off-road plus, and mine is a stick, so the shift point is wherever I want it to be. It's much more than just shift points.

modern motors are not 1960 v8's, these things can rev and hang at high revs. What was once high rev's in 60's tech, is barely even building power on a modern motor. Let her bang on the rev limiter, but the trans will shift before you get there. Hell even my buddies 5.3L chevy in his burban will hang out at 4 - 4.5k going through the mountains all day.

I’ll keep that in mind, thanks. It wasn’t really puttering around like driving on the beach at Daytona where you can drive cars on.
It definitely worked the jeep a little more then I thought it would. The sand was a little sloppier then I expected. Nothing crazy, just my first time out there and thought it’d be a little more packed.
