Has anyone else experienced an issue where you ran your Gladiator through no more than 7 inches of water at roughly 20 mph and it stopped driving?
The engine did not shut off but when I tried to go up the hill it would barely do 1 mile an hour. I put it in the park back into drive with still no luck. With the gas pedal still floored, it slowly gained momentum and then started working fine again. While the splash was enough to cover the hood and even get inside the cab, I am rather confident no amount of water got inside the air intake. When I pop the hood later on, it was completely dry and no evidence of water.

On a separate topic, my uconnect is having non-stop problems. Uconnect has to be the worst system ever! I had it on my JL and it was replaced over four times. On my new Gladiator, it is having problems often connecting to my phone, but just recently, the off-road pages app would not open it was grayed out. The front facing camera often does not turn on and not due to the limitations of the front cam which I am aware of.

My biggest concern is that splashes issue. Please let me know if any of you have experienced the same issues.

No and I have driven through that much mud at that speed and not had problems (10k miles later). Based on stories like this and others, I feel blessed. Following as water-related issues are of great interest/concern to me.

You need to check to see if you have any error codes.

It sounds like the gladiator went into limp mode. If so, I would have the dealer check the MAF (mass air meter), and Spark -- (the coils). If the MAF gives a wrong voltage, most cars go into limp mode -- note: the MAF has small wires in the air flow track that measure temp and air volume to calculate gas required. If those wires get anything on them, ie. even a drop of water, then, the voltage could go haywire and immediately put the vehicle in limp mode.
I believe Limp mode should give you an error code, but, I am not sure.

If not official limp mode, then, it could be fuel pump.

PS. I have seen a bad MAF put a car in limp mode once in a while when it was floored, then, it would come back at part throttle.

Recently I was in water just about up do my doors during a flash flood here. I had to get to my daughter who was stranded in her car with a hydrolocked motor. I'm not going to lie, I was puckering a couple times but I never had an issue. No running issues and no water in either diff. I have stock wheels and tires. No lift.

I did not realize there was an actual limp mode, but that sounds like exactly what happened. On a Facebook forum somebody sent me the link to that jeep that was pretty famous when the whole engine hydrolocked in 10 inches of water. Ultimately Jeep baught him a new engine. But I will follow up on your suggestions. Thank you so much

Oddly enough, dust caused a similar issue on a previous vehicle. If you are replacing sensors galore, it may be the casing or containment feature, which dealer Joe doesn't have in the list of things to correct, so they won't unless you push. It's why we don't buy eggs with cracked shells, the whole insides could be contaminated.

I have attached a video of my return to that same puddle. https://photos.app.goo.gl/8TnsbNgeQy4E5Mrj9

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Please let me know if you plan on visiting a dealership for this concern. I would be happy to open a case for you and get you over to a Uconnect specialist.
