Sirius XM issues - current

Hello - the past 2 weeks we keep loosing reception for about 2 seconds during songs - it sometimes happens 3 or 4 times during a song - I switch channels and it happens with them also. My wife experiencing the samething in her Honda Accord.

I initially thought it may be a JT antenna issue but maybe not.

Any one else having this problem with SXM?

The reception on my JT cuts out at times no obvious reason. Wife's Grand Cherokee does not have this problem, I blame it on the antenna location.

Mine does the same thing in spots, always the same spots and in all vehicles, BMW, Mustang, and Jeep.

XM just launched a new satellite this morning...hopefully this addresses reception issues

I've had this issue on and off before and it can depend on where you are driving. Tree cover or tall buildings do a great job of blocking signal.

That would be my guess also. Depending on where someone is located the satellite maybe very low in the sky.

Mine also cuts out at same spots with different vehicles.

I've had a channel blank out completely, only to change the channel and that one was fine....switch back to the previous channel and it's okay. I've figured that it's Sirius, any time you are depending on your vehicle seeing the southern sky, something could possibly be blocking it out momentarily or it could just be lagging, who knows.

I have this issue and to be clear it is NOT the same as a reception blackout with tree cover or tall buildings, etc.....It is literally random 1-2 second glitches in the reception for no reason whatsoever. I have suspected sirius being the culprit as this seems to be a new issue over the last month or two, however I have had other issues with my stock radio since I purchased, most notably the fact that is randomly stops working and then reboots itself and I have to reprogram the clock. This happens about 2-3 times a month...so I guess it could be the unit, but I am still leaning towards a sirius issue...

I had several/couple problems with my head unit also, nothing would come on. Others have commented they have too. If I remember correctly turning to AM cleared the problem.

It hasn't done it in a while but I don't know if the firmware was updated OTA or not.

If it's still under warranty I would certainly take it in because that doesn't sound right.

I'm currently having the same exact issue, I have a hard top with no roof rack.

Just upgraded to the Stinger heigh10...so I will see how that works

I just called SXM and had them send a signal refresh to my JT - has anyone tried this? They had me tune to
Channel 1 and said I should see the word updating come on my screen but I saw nothing - odd

Also - the 1 to 2 second glitches is what I have - drives me nuts
