I used to have a subscription to them years and years ago when I spent all day in a truck out in the oilfield, and it was worth it to have something to listen to besides country or tejano. But yeah, when I finally cancelled it, it took forever. Of course you can easily sign up online, but cancelling requires you to call, wait for the retention department, hear 10 sales pitches, and finally an hour later they cancel your account.

I still like the content, and I would happily pay up to $10 a month total for the highest tier plan for 2 vehicles. Anything more expensive than that isn't worth it to me.

Agreed, content is good. I like getting continuous service no matter how remote I am off road.

Sales people are something else. been dealing with them for many years. Ask plenty of questions because they hide things and double talk you. Also, they quote you for upgraded packages, then when you ask why so much, the give you a better deal but don’t tell you its for a reduced package???

I’ve been using it for almost 20 years now. The past year they started de-contenting some very expensive packages—MLB And NFL notably. So you have to go to the very top tier. It’s ridiculously expensive now, considering most people listen to podcasts or streaming services anywhere. But if you’re into sports or news and live in spotty coverage areas, it’s worth it. Have to do the threaten to cancel thing every 6 months or so, which gets old.

I just renew with the package that runs about $5/month (whether that is 6mon or 1yr depends on their marketing) and I listen in the truck through the XM radio module or online/mobile through their website/app. Don't have subscriptions to all the other crap like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, etc. so this is all I spend for online music.

Sometimes marketing specials come along like 3mon for $3 and I'll do those too.

Thankfully, my one year trial expired on its own. They called pretty regularly trying to get me to sign up. The price got down to $3.00 a month. They were pretty surprised when I still wasn't interested.

I listen to music and I like high fidelity. Satellite radio fidelity sucks. (It used to be good, but they cut the quality to add more channels in the same bandwidth.)

I now have Apple Music. For $10.00 a month I can stream any song I want any time I want. Yeah, not so great if you like sports or talk radio.

When my subscription expired it was going to cost me $30 a month for the same package it came with. I ask why the old Grand Cherokee was $6 and this was so much more. The explanation was that price is only for the Grand Cherokee. After they offered to cut it to $15 I said no I did not listen to it that much but would pay $6 they said they couldn't do that so I said just cancel it. Two weeks later I got a offer for $6 for a year in the mail.

Just cancelled. Hate dealing with these people. Watch them, shady.
Dude, ease up on the details will ya…

?

I used to use them when I patrolled in the boonies ten or twelve hours a day. It was worth it and I could always get a pretty good deal with a little haggling. Now I just use Apple ITunes and listen to whatever I want when I want to. I cancelled them last year after the factory subscription period expired.

We dropped Sirius XM many years ago. Never cared for the terrible audio quality and when they began the policy of requiring automatic payments for subscriptions, that was it for us. Will never go back.

I used to negotiate a deal and then pay them the entire fee for the year. The thing I really didn’t like is that they will automatically charge and renew the subscription at the end of the year without telling you. When they do, they will charge you full price for it unless you catch it or remember to call them before the subscription is up.

I never extended when the 1 yr trial ended. Still get mailings with the same deal they offered day 1. I opted for a family spotify premium subscription -and- I don't have to deal with the crappy sound quality cutting in and out if you are dricing anywhere except on wide open highway. I find that irritating.

I just read today that Spotify is dropping some auto related streaming. Sounds like people are not too happy about it.

I love the service, but I hate having to call in every single year and argue to get the price I know they'll give me. If they would just lock me in at that price, I'd pre-pay a 3 year subscription just to not have to deal with it.
