Naw, the best we have is the old Kate Shelley bridge......Ledges state park, the bluffs out west, and the area around Decorah and Dubuque............ hardly mountains but they might make a hillbilly feel at home. ?

I have read that they have some ground based transmitters to fill in the dead zones. That was years ago, don't know if they still have any.

They still have them. Typically in the 'big cities' to help minimize the dropouts from the buildings, bridges, etc., messing with the satellite's signal. They added one or two in the Los Angeles area a few years ago and it made a world of difference on my commute. Now that I've moved to the great PNW it's been okay, but not as good as it was in LA. Probably all those darn tall green thingies up here. What are those again? Oh right, trees.

They offered me a pretty good deal to extend my subscription when my trial ended, so I extended a year.
They even sent me a renewal notice a couple of months in advance, and they went as low as $5/mo. to re-up.
I can't stand that their rotation (playlists) are only about a hundred songs. On some of the specialty channels, you listen for a couple days, and the songs start repeating.
That and their incessant promos (add-free my ass.)
I'll use my phone loaded with several thousands of songs that I know I like, and keep it at that. It beats toting a bunch of 8-track tapes...

I've had a subscription for several years, never any problem with it. I'd rather pay to listen to music I like than listen to 30 minutes of ads before any song is played on 'free' radio.

Wait, what? There are no "transmitter towers" for satellite radio. The satellite is the transmitter. That's why you lose the signal when you go into a tunnel, drive between steep mountains or get blocked by any large, impenetrable object.

Sales: I’m sorry sir, the over charge is in the amount of $85.12 for both the wrangler and Gladiator. The renewal for premium subscription on the Wrangler is $173.34 for the year. Can you please give me a new credit card number so I can process these charges?
Me: wait so I will also be charged another $173.34 to renew the Gladiator? And when did you say the contract expired?
Sales: The contract expired March 8th and yes you will need to pay an additional $173.34 for a year of premium subscription for the Gladiator.
Me: Nevermind, I will just pay the $85 for the overage fee. I assume I will at least enjoy the rest of the month to April 8th.
Sales: hold on, let me talk to my manager about any special deals.….ok, I just spoke to my manager and we can give you the regular subscription for just $120 per vehicle and will lower you overage fee for both vehicles to $70.28.
Me: ok, so you are giving me a better price for the regular subscription? What’s the difference and when will the subscription term be over?
Sales: (something about MLB package and other things). Your term will end March 8, 2023. Can I get a credit card number so I can process these changes?
Me: (math and deal all smells fishy) This doesn’t seem like a deal at all. I will pay a lesser price for lesser service, be charged $70.28 for a month of overages and you will short change my new contract by one month. …
Me in my kindest Filipino voice: PLEASE CANCEL….

I ended up paying the $85 overage fee, let’s see If they turn off the subscription before April 8th.

If you have Amazon Alexa at home get one of the roav viva hook it up to your Bluetooth and say Alexa play. What ever you want to hear been using it for a cpl yrs know and with no bill every month.Dont waste your money on the Amazon Echo Auto it's junk been there done that lol

I've had Sirius since I bought my JKUR new in 2011. Have enjoyed having the various music channels when I drive, and it was very helpful when I drive my Gladiator across country.
But with the ever increasing editing of songs, the talking over the intro/ending (like terrestrial radio does), and more and more the DJs are gabbing between songs, I'm feeling it may be time to end our relationship.
The Gladiator has no problem reading from a large USB drive, and I usually keep weeks worth of music in the truck at all times, so Sirius is becoming more and more unnecessary.
