I don’t think this has been posted, but an FYI for anyone considering slide-in campers, from the manual on page 14 under campers:

This vehicle is NOT recommended for slide-in camper applications.

Reply with useful information:
My F-350 also has the same language in its owners manual!

When you order the “Camper Package” they add a rear sway bar....that’s it.

I don’t know if the JT has one but if not it would be a good idea to add one.

If you wanted to add a camper I would recommend talking with the folks at Four Wheel Camper ( https://fourwheelcampers.com/ ) or All Terrain Campers ( https://allterraincampers.com/ ) to see is some of their smaller pop up campers would fit or could be made to fit.

Both of these manufacturers make lightweight campers that have been used on Tacoma’s, Colorado’s etc.

So does the manual give any clues as to why? I get why something oversized and too heavy would be a problem. Why would there be an issue if properly sized?

No details in the manual. It just has that line under campers.

Good Info. I'll put this in the first post!
