I agree with this. Well mostly. The LP series are cool and all but LED for LED you actually get more performance out of the XL80's with less power draw. The only reason the LP series appear to throw more light is because they simply have more LED's and have the side IPT tech. XL80's have 4 LED's yet it cranks out more light than the LP6 that is using 6 forward facing LEDs. I do like their IPT light idea though it's pretty slick.Take a cheap shot all you want, the LP series are the best pods on the market and it's not even close. I had a pair of LP6 Pros on my JT and never felt I needed more. The near spread with the IPT lights is so good that I never ran ditch lights and the throw on the combo pattern gave full coverage at speed road or trail.
They're obviously not cheap, but your primary forward lights should be the biggest investment. Stick the Chinese stuff everywhere else.
Agreed. Quality that lasts is always my opinion. But I’m a KC guy, through and through. So much history.I agree with this. Well mostly. But I digress, I agree with quality light. With so many people that talk about the 'buy once cry once' slapping 37s and a $8,000 lift, but skimp out on lights that might be the deciding factor of going off the road or not.... Well, lights for me are critical in the part of the country, so I guess I'll subscribe to that 'mall crawler' category and feel sound about knowing I will see every detail, every rock, every cliff, every washout - before totaling my rig.
I have not heard anyone really talk about Rigid much lately. They used to have a lot of decent lighting options for fairly cheap as well. Even lower cost I think than DD, but probably lower performance as well though.
KC has made some big improvements in the last several years too. I was thinking of going with them for the JL build maybe just to keep it 'old school'.Agreed. Quality that lasts is always my opinion. But I’m a KC guy, through and through. So much history.
I love the lens cover choices. I especially like that they have clear. I either have clear on to prolong their life cosmetically, and to protect from rock chips. Or I use the amber covers for snow or long driving light situations. They also have black and yellow traditional KC covers that come with them. Those are very cool.KC has made some big improvements in the last several years too. I was thinking of going with them for the JL build maybe just to keep it 'old school'.
I just mean in the sense that if you had to pick one pair of lights, the LP are top of the pile because they do it all well. Definitely better options as part of a system but standing alone, nothing comes close. I'm actually planning on some spot XL80s on my 4Runner (to complement a bar on the roof) for exactly the reason you said and because I lose the IPT benefit putting them behind the grille. The LP6s will find a home on the YJ when it's done.I agree with this. Well mostly. After seeing some in person the other day. Easily worth the money, a solid 30-40% better than the Harbor Freight. I think the positive of Harbor Freight is it close enough for a 1/8th price and you can walk into any store and trade no questioned asked if ya somehow bust it. Its no BD for sure, but for what I'm trying to do rn, it'll hold me over just fine. I want FOX elites more than I want some LPs. I'm generally against covering my vehicle is a shit ton of lights, I like a OEM plus look. 2 LP6s in future maybe and I'll call it day. everything else will be hidden scene lights for camp. Thanks for the input.Baja Designs LP9 and Diode Dynamics SS3 pro fogs. Loving this setup and worth the money imo. I will be moving my KC Hilite LEDs to the A pillars.

literally just responded to your post too. Looks awesome man! thanks for sharing.Gonna toss these in the ring: Hella value for 500 LEDs. Come in driving or spot beam(mine are driving), can put amber covers on when needed, reasonably priced, well made. I’ve been a Hella fan for a while so I’m a bit biased, but worth a look. Plus they have a cool built in accent/position light.
