Our maiden voyage this past week (Max Tow package) - towed from Eastern PA to Miramar Beach, FL - about 2300 miles round trip. Pulled great the whole time and averaged about 11mpg. Trailer is a Flying Cloud 23FB. Measured tongue weight using a Sherline scale and it came in around 600 lbs loaded for camping. CAT scale measurements were good also - trailer came in at 5180 lbs. This is the same trailer that MotorTrend used for their test - ours is set up with a WDH with sway control (Equalizer). Did not have any issues. All in all a great combination.

Maiden voyage over to Oark,AR. Was a 600 mile round trip for us. Averaged 11.5 mpg with my Max Tow. The JT pulled the load like a hoss. Felt confident the whole trip. I estimate the total load was close to 6600lbs. This was just on a ball receiver hitch, no WDH. Granted 99% of the trip was pretty flat land I’d definitely will make this trip again pulling the TJ.

That is exactly the rig I am looking at, but mine will probably be an International 23FB and I will probably have solar panels and LIthium batteries.

Simply sweet!

Looks amazing.

So, what specific model of WDH did you buy, and do you have much squat, etc.

Break Controller?

Love your Airstream Flying Cloud 23FB!!!!

Thanks - we love the setup as well. We have the 90W solar package and the AGM batteries.

I am using the Equalizer WDH and the Curt Bluetooth brake controller. Both work very well.

With the WDH attached, there is very little squat - 1/2” or so. I have the 2” MOPAR lift and that does well with the setup.

I have a similar one sitting in my garage and just haven’t had the time to swap it out from the one i have on their now. I feel like i get too much drop with my current one.

Is this the one you have?

That is the exact rig I’m looking at. I’m waiting to pull the trigger until I know when my Bronco is going to be built. I don’t want to get myself in a bind with the man at the bank or the lady in the passenger seat so doing a slow roll on buying anything right now.

Nice. Looking to order a Rockwood GP 19. 2-5/16" ball & coupler right? How much drop and / or which WDH setup did you go with?
I estimate it drops about six inches. I don't have a lift kit, so the OEM lower front and raised rear levels out when the trailer is attached. I don't remember what make the WDH is, as I bought it for a heavier trailer I previously owned a few years ago, but never installed. it is identical to a Blue Ox Tow Pro w/sway control, and works well.

Correction: It is an E2 round bar hitch.

First time pulling my big trailer last week. Did well. I think the air bags helped a lot. I’d be nervous if I didn’t have them. 8.5x28 with tekonsha p3 mounted on centerak mount.

I am not that brave. Love your AS
Piece of cake. That trailer was bought new, along with a WK2 Summit EcoD; that rig drags it still like a rag doll. Deviated for a year with a 17' Super Duty Stroke, traded it for the Gladiator, with it about to be exchanged for a JTR EcoD. That engine, the EcoD, proved itself on the last long-haul pull, when we drove from Bishop to Needles via Barstow...in July. Ground temp 127, air 117, oil maxed at 247, coolant 235, trans 208. But I digress - the Reese straight line with 1200 bars, air bags, and tongue weight management makes it an easy pull.
