Just before unloading the 1943 GPW after a weekend of numerous parades and displays. The rig has been on the site before but here is some data gathered over two 90 mile round trips to the Denver area from our place about 45 southeast of Denver. Our place is at 6700 feet so we lose/gain 1400 feet on the round trip. Trailer and Jeep come in at right at 4000lbs. 19 foot trailer.a I measured 550 lbs on the hitch ball. Truck sits pretty level at that hitch weight. Brakes on both trailer axles. Pulls/tracks like a dream. Over the two round trips to Denver I averaged 15.1 MPG which isn’t too bad at all At this altitude. I always fold the GPW’s windshield down to minimize rock damage which probably helps a little in reducing sail area resistance also. Once cruising over 50 MPH transmission would be at least in 7th, 8 here and there.
