So you did it while driving?
Mine is maps only and they state it takes up to 30 minutes - for map updates?
I don't have the software update - my software us supposedly current. I have only maps and they say put the truck in the driveway, start the engine and run the update and let it run there for 30 minutes (or something like that) No way I'm burning 30 minutes of gas sitting in a driveway. I can't think of any place I need to go that's 30 minutes away so it would run long enough.
No, I just sat there in the driveway while it did the updates. The Map Update was the only one I worried about, due to the activation process. It took around 20 minutes. I did the Uconnect update first, it was about 10 or 15 minutes.

That's my only worry. It has worked great for the last two years. I guess I'll worry about that if it goes on sale again.

Question - since there's back and forth activation required, is it even possible to do this from home because internet (cell data) is quite iffy here, off and on, off and on. Can't rely on it.
The guy who did a windshield had to leave our neighborhood to get his system to function properly.

I can't remember, you may be able to do the activation and get the code to enter before you start. Maybe You could park up near the house, for the upgrade, so internet access is closer.

That's the problem - internet access near our house. It's all cell data as that's all there is out here and we are in a semi-dead-zone. TV, internet, whatever, it's spotty. It works much of the time but it drops frequently. If it's all just emails, that sort of thing, would work, but if the truck itself needs cell data, it won't work here.

You need internet access to get the activation code to enter into the head unit to start the map update. I don't think the head unit needs cellular access to do the update.

Then I'm probably ok......... as long as it's just a message with a code that's needed. If it needed constant access, I'd be in trouble, but just getting codes, should be fine.

I did this update on Thursday. I dont think it plays nice with the tazer. After the update my battery was draining fast and auto start stop stopped working due to the constant battery charging message.

I updated the tazer to the latest software but now none of the settings stick. I took out the tazer in case that updated needs to have those plugs hardwired to the jeep itself. Also emailed zauto to see if they're aware and if there will be an updated firmware.

Anyone else who did this update have a tazer? Did it affect you?
Did you get a response from Zautomotive? I just received a notice of update on my screen. I didn’t allow it to update not knowing if I should unmarry the Tazer prior to the update.

Yes, it ended up being a coincidence. Tazer was still new to me and I think I was playing with settings and botched something. Rebooted Tazer and all has been fine.

I just got an update last night. Any idea what improved? I don't see any difference.
And I still have no options other than the blue arrow icon on the nav map.
2020 Overland, 8" screen.
I just got the update Thanksgiving night. It was a short drive so I left the truck running when I got home. (Because it was installing , didn't wanna interrupt it)
Went back, turned off the truck. Went to bed.
Next day remotely start it. Doesn't start.
Get into truck. Every light, indicator, screen, shifter light and wipers are blinking. Warnings for everything possible on evic. Ignition stuck in run position with no response. Eventually jump started. Returns to normal except auto start/stop service warning âš  anyone know what happened here. Or similar experience.

What you have is a result of of the batteries being discharged. It could be a product of the software update with the Tazer installed, and it could be due to a battery failing.

I would start by disconnecting both batteries and separately charging each one. If they both charge with no errors and maintain voltage levels after the charger is removed, then put it all back together and see what happens. This will also reboot the system, but it may take the head unit up to 24 hours to fully recover. Be careful with the battery cables so that there is no accidental contact where there should be none.
