You just discovered the reason the previous owner got rid of it.
On this note, whenever I see one for sale thats heavily modified with low to mid miles, I question why the previous owner would get rid of it. ???

Fixed the overheating problem. Replaced air filter old one was so caked with dirt and debris. No wonder its overheating, changed oil added full synthetic, low antifreeze added more. The Jeep dealer I bought from said they checked all fluids that was a lie, they said they did a full diagnostic scan another lie, said they replaced the air filter another lie. I think I'll work on my own vehicle.
Great that you were able to get to the bottom of your issues! Always good to get dirty and know all the "nooks and crannies" of your ride.

As for the dealer you purchased your JT from, that's another story. Don't recommend it to anyone.

I can think of plenty of reasons why a vehicle is being sold that has nothing to do with it being a potential passed off lemon.

With the auto start/stop active it caused a misfire in cylinders 2,4,6. After clearing the codes and deactivating auto start/stop no misfire. I've tested this twice now just to be sure.

Oh @JeepCares if only the addition of notes on my case meant anything I would. Unfortunately it does not. I have shared everything with person handling the case.

Feel free to send me an escalation or supervisors number, now that maybe helpful.

I have found the same issue with Jeep corporate. They have no desire to stand behind their vehicles or their authorized dealers and service centers. My last interaction with them, I informed them that they have proved to me that there is no point in ever buying a new Jeep, as Jeep provides no service to their customers. That comment on “I’ll put it in the notes” is exactly the sort of thing they do: I’ll make a case, determine I can close it taking no action. @JeepCares is a lie. They don’t. After decades of waiting for this exact vehicle to exist, the experience with my dealer and my truck is driving me away from the entire brand. It feels like walking away from family, but when the family demonstrates you have no value to them, that’s the only thing to do.

Well it's going back in. Last time it was 22 days at the dealer.

P0300 after 1300 miles dealer replaced batteries
P0300 continued, replaced more batteries, replaced rockers, lifters one at a time, cam was replaced. Finally engine replaced
transmission leak- repaired
transmission leak #2 repaired

Current situation
Bad ticking once again from a motor that has 15K miles
transmission leak #3

Called @JeepCares opened another case but I am 2 weeks in to it and 2 representatives still no rental confirmed.

One big Joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to hear that. I had one of their ecodiesels and went through 2 engines!

I am not a lawyer. You need to get legal advice and advice from your State as soon as possible, and before carrying out the following listed items.

Based on your extreme issues, you may need a multi-channel approach for attempting to get a reasonable resolution. I've bought many new vehicles over the years, and I've had extreme lemons 3 times out of 40+ cars. Two were Fords and one was Chevrolet/GM. My suggestions of actions to take simultaneously:

1. Document everything. Keep copies of receipts, work, dates, summary of all discussions, all names of people involved at dealer, etc. Keep a notebook, including all paperwork timestamped. be sure that all paperwork is included - purchase agreement, copy of title, all expenses incurred due to issues, precise time lost from work, time spent dealing with the issues.

2. Your State Attorney General. Make out a formal complaint with your State Attorney General's Office. They all have a Department of Consumer Affairs. It takes a while, but they do respond, take actions, and work on your behalf.

3. BBB. Contact and make out a formal complaint to your local and State Better Business Bureau. Make a complaint naming the deal, and another one naming the manufacturer.

4. Social Media. Develop a short and simple "why" (summarized complaint). Post it with photos on twitter (create hashtags to capture a very wide audience), Facebook (including the Jeep page, dealer's page, manufacturer's page, etc), instagram, and more. Make a video on Youtube, and post on the auto complaint sites (many exist).

5. Lemon Law Complaint. Make out a Lemon Law complaint to your State. Most States have Lemon Law programs at the State level. Then look for a Lemon Law lawyer somewhere near you. Meet with one and have the lawyer file the proper paperwork, etc., in accordance with your State's Lemon Laws and your State's Attorney General's Office. Separately, get a lawsuit filed against the manufacturer and the dealership. No matter where it ends up going, just get it filed to start.

6. Start a Mitigation Process. In your manual and in your purchase documents it describes a mitigation process, where a 3rd party can review all agreements, warrantees, and other documents, and will determine what is normal and customarily done to address these issues. They have authority to rule what the outcome should be. Not all agreements fall under this rule, but it does exist for most extreme cases.

GOOD LUCK.

I used to drive GM vehicles religiously until QC dropped so dramatically 15 years ago, I moved on. I then started driving new Jeeps/Dodges and Chryslers. I've been having a good luck with the Mopar line of vehicles. I also have a great relationship with my dealer.

I spent half of my life in the dealership industry. I know that if your dealer really goes to bat for you, results will follow. That's the key.

Sorry to read about the issues some of you Jeep owners are having. Lots of tech built into these mass-produced vehicles. There is always a percentage of all makes and models that have issues and unfortunately, it sometimes is "luck of the draw" when purchasing. :(

I don't wish this on anyone. I have been patient but my last interaction with a dealer was not good and honestly I felt @JeepCares could not get anything accomplished. They are only there so you have someone to vent too. I was told they have no control on the dealer. Hell I asked for a copy of my repairs and they claim they did not have access to them.

But they did give me free oil changes, woo hoo!!!!
Bummer I've had zero issues with my 2 Gladiators and zero with my sons total of 100k now did have an issue with my wifes Tuscadero Jlru but only because it was missing a window in the box for the soft top my dealer was no help at all said out of there hands ! Jeep cares overnighted my wife a complete new soft top.at no charge and told her to keep the one missing the window!! Must have got an agent that cared. Sorry about your troubles hope you get resolved soon.

I feel your pain OP. Bought Japanese vehicles my whole life new and used and never once had anything come outside of regular maintenance. Always wanted a jeep and finally pulled the trigger and ordered a 2023 JT. I’m at 700 miles and out of 35 days I’ve owned 30 of those have already been at the shop because the front axle broke on the drive home from the dealer. In the last couple of days I put on 200 miles after all the internal components (axles, differential, etc) were swapped and it’s already making the same grinding noise again. The transmission now is hesitating in 3rd and slamming into 4th as well which just came up at 700 miles. Feels like it wants to stall anytime in 3rd. Wish I was one of the trouble free owners since I love the truck but mine is a total turd. In-laws also have a 2023 that out of 3 months of ownership has spent 2.5 months at the dealer and they’re even having a FCA rep computer and look at it because they can’t fix it. In my case calling @JeepCares was completely useless, they did nothing to help and I had to keep calling back because they kept forgetting to even assign a rep to my case. As much as I love this truck, I love having a functioning vehicle more. Going to just go trade it for another Toyota and enjoy many years of trouble free ownership and decent customer service.

Update
@JeepCares failed me again.

I request a loaner when dropping off the truck to get all the issues looked at again. I was told by my 2nd assigned rep on Friday that they would have a loaner. All I needed to do was let her know when the truck was going to be dropped off. I sent her an email confirming Tuesday 9am 3/7 (today) and asked to please confirm rental/loaner.

Today was the morning I was to drop off the truck. After 3 emails crickets........... No response from @JeepCares Rep since 3/3. Dealer is not aware of loaner.

What do you do when @JeepCares fails you? Do they really care? If my Rep is out, wouldn't someone else look over the cases they are responsible?
