I really like that. Well thought out. I wish it would somehow go over a bed rug, but I guess the bed rug could be trimmed.

I just want the umbrella stand but I don’t see where I can get the OUTPOST plate separate. I don’t want the big plate. I sent them an email.

Great idea if you only need a couple attachment points.

Probably more like 1/4” - it’s beveled so it is not obtrusive.

i've seen those tracks at the gym, mounted on a wall for attaching resistance bands at various heights. been thinking it'd be a great way to do trail rail type setup. looks great!

I think the bed rug could be easily modified for this to fit. The tailgate metal plate is removed and Bolts seem plenty long enough for sandwiching the bed rug in between.

The Bed Rug for the tailgate attaches with Velcro strips at the top and bottom. It's just thick enough that I don't think it would sandwich well.

I abandoned the Velcro within a week. It kept falling off. I put the bolts for the tailgate through the rug and that holds it great.

By our calipers, it sits ~3/8" proud of the tailgate. With the 60 degree radius around the perimeter, the ingress/egress isn't compromised in any meaningful way.

Nice setup. How long is that umbrella ? is it possible to get a 9 foot diameter umbrella that is only 5 feet long when folded so it can fit lengthwise in the bed with the tailgate closed ?
