‘21 Sport with black cloth. I’m a big boy (290) and these seats are killing my love for my truck! The bottom cushion looks fine appearance wise but it feels like it’s bottomed out when I sit down. Bought it used and it’s been that way ever since I got it. Got the seat risers but no help.

Any suggestions to alleviate this issue is appreciated. Otherwise, I will have to think about trading for something more comfortable in the seating.

You could get seats from salvage vehicle and swap them out. The Mojave seats are very comfortable/supportive IMO. https://car-part.com/

Or you could find a local automotive upholstery shop and talk to them about rebuilding your seats with firmer foam. Either way would be more financially prudent than swapping out of the truck.

Yeah, the suggestion above to have a local upholstery shop gets my vote.

Yep. Newer more high quality foam should do the trick.

Try the Mojave seats first if you have the opportunity. They are well bolstered but from your original post they may not be your cup of tea.

Or go full HAM and get some racing seats!!!!

Mojave seats for the win. I’ve had both kinds of seats, and the Mojave ones are much better.

I got a cheap set of padded seat covers at my local Canadian tire and it feels fine. I have done 12 hr drives no problem.

I hope you can find a local upholstery shop to do it. I have tried repeatedly to find a shop to reupholster the front drivers seat or both front seats on my '99 TJ and nobody seems interested in doing it. I have even tried boat seat places and still nothing. All they tell me is buy new (aftermarket) seats and I will be happier.

I like my TJ seats the way they are but they do need some new foam and support and a small tear in the vinyl stuff repaired. But I guess I just have to live with it.

I get it. I find our cloth '25 JL seats uncomfortable, but love my '24 JT Jeep Beach seats that are Katzkin leather. I think an upholstery shop can solve your problem. Much better than selling your vehicle.

That's crazy you can't find anyone in Florida to do that work.

There has to be some boat people that could direct you to someone.

I'm originally from Blissfield, MI, a town of 3k people. There is an upholstery guy in that town that does this.

I may look around again. When I called three or four places (including a boat upholstery place) just one seat didn't seem to excite anyone. But I will keep trying.

Thats wild. They aren’t narrow or aggressively bolstered at all. We have a few sports cars with seats that are a tight fit for me being 6’1”/200 lbs and broad shouldered, but Gladiator seats are the opposite. You have to use a seatbelt extender too? Pay for an extra seat when you fly?

I’m 175 lbs and I think the Gladiator seats aren’t great. Maybe the width isn’t the issue.

Has nothing to do with the width of the seat. And no, a seat belt extension is not necessary nor is a two seat ticket

I find seats are getting more and more narrow these days. My 07 JK seats were too narrow and I had to use a pad to make it tolerable. My JT Sport seats with Katskin are good. Just the right width. My Wife's 16 cherokee with leather seats was intolerable to sit in. Subaru Forester seats were ok but felt like they were made of cardboard placed on concrete. I'm definitely one who's sensitive to narrow seats. I haven't tried Mojave seats yet.

Here's a mopar part for Driver's seat tho. Maybe you just need a new one
Driver's seat replacement foam

at $300 it's still cheaper than getting hosed with a trade in
I feel seats are getting wider lol but I'm also coming from a history of sports cars where the seats hug you. When I went from my 3 series BMW with sport seats to my X5 (which also had sport seats), it felt like I was sitting on a couch in the X5. But I prefer a seat to hug. I want it to keep me centered and in place without any sliding around. There is a limit though, and I can see how folks who may be wider would be uncomfortable in seats with larger side bolsters.

I will say I think seats are getting firmer though. Even some higher end model cars I find the seats too firm. I haven't been too bothered by the Gladi seats. They aren't the worst , but they could be better. I would like some more side bolster, especially with the amount of off road rocking back and forth I do.
