Hi all, got our 22 Rubicon a couple weeks ago. Love it so far, not my first jeep, Ive had TJs but its been 10+ years. Problem is driving at 40+ it seems like Im constantly making steering adjustments as if there is a strong crosswind (when theres none). Is this just how they are? I lowered the tire pressures as the dealer had them at almost 40 psi when cold, lowered to 35 and still does it.

Take it back to the dealer and request that they check alignment and all steering components for proper torque. It's not a Jeep thing and it shouldn't be driving like that.

If you have a garage or other good surface and a helper you can get someone to turn the wheel right and left while running and in park, while you visually inspect components for movement and slop.

You might try 32 PSI as well.

How much free play is in the steering wheel?

Those are optional but I have driven a brand new Rubicon and what you're experiencing is not how that one drove at all.
I know because my Mojave was doing the same things yours is doing, so I wanted to compare.

Try lowering the air pressure a little more in the tires, around 30 PSI cold will net you 33-34 PSI when they warm up. Where you're at now, when they warm up it's going to put you around 40 PSI.

Being familiar with northern Ohio roads, tar snakes (seam sealer) could be affecting you too. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about that.

That Rubicon I test drove was 39 psi and there was no wander and no bump steer.
I have to wonder if Jeep jacks the factory psi up in order to get one or two more mpg on the rating.

I'd bet dollars to donuts that it's the dealers airing them up so high.

check your own toe setting.

I’ve been reading that people are getting their jeep from the factory with the toe out of alignment.

I myself had the dealer do several alignments until I checked it myself and found that it was still incorrect.

Once I did it myself it drove perfectly.

I actually link to their videos pretty often. I guess I avoid the ban hammer by not saying their name? Who knows…reality is they’re a good resource so maybe the mods just shrug and let it pass.

Factory ships them out with like 45 psi for transport and lot storage reasons.

The dealership is failing to do the PDI correctly by not adjusting them down at customer delivery.

🤣 And car carriers deflate them as much as possible to limit vertical space needed.
