I got my new 37 in spare into the OEM mounting spot, its tight and had to adjust the heat shield edges some to not cut into the tire but got it in and appears to be all the way up but I cant seem to tighten it to the point that springs are touching like the original 33in tire. When I try to tighten it, it seemed slip so I stopped, last thing I wanted to do this strip the mechanism that lowers the tire. Should this be tighter?

Naw its good. My 37 sits the same way
I will second that, mine looks the same also and has remained tight with plenty of driving rough roads.

38 nitto can't fit can it?
Hard to say, but probably not without some deflation, if at all. It depends on how you define “fit”.

With a track bar with a tire bend, and removing the shield it MIGHT fit, but I doubt it. Mine is wedged against the hitch and barely has track bar cIearance. I have a big 37x13.50 under mine, and it barely fits with the shield in place at 15psi.

I’m guessing the extra inch of width makes a track bar difference. My 37x12.5 fits fine fully inflated. I do have the bent Clayton track bar. And my heat shield is still installed.

Mine is fine at ride height with a track bar extension on the axle bracket. Flexed is when it gets close.
That 37 (maxxis RAZR MT) is a little bigger than 36.75 mounted on a wheel.

My Mickey Thomsons are around 36.5.

I thought there was a thread somewhere with people listing their 37's that either fit or didn't fit?

Thanks. I have a rock krawler 3" lift. I really just need to get 37's next time anyway and not worry about it.
Exactly. Dive into the rabbit hole with no planning. Just have fun and go with it.

Factory 33 has a bigger center bore. The mechanism is torque limiting, cranking it until it skip/clicks once or twice.
