Hello! I have a Rubicon with all factory suspension...less than 4,000 miles. Factory tires (Falken tires with factory pressure and the factory red shocks). My issue is the rear seems bouncy...especially when going 70 or so on the interstate when I hit a few rough spots in turns. No wobble or anything like that, no unusual sounds, it just feels uncomfortably loose or bouncy. I have read that the suspension on Rubicon's is a bit soft, so I am wondering if better shocks, springs or what would help. At some point I would like to level the factory rake a bit, but don't want to do much now because of warranty issues. I'm not planning on doing any serious off roading, maybe a few mild trails at some point. I like everything else about it, it's just that loose feeling in the back that gets worse the faster I go.
I have a JTR and the suspension was horrible when new. I installed 37" with AEV wheels and AEV 2.5" lift with geo correction kit and it drives perfect now. I recommend it. I have had a number of pickups previously and they all were bouncy to some extent when empty. Funny thing about my JT now, after the lift and tires, it is hardly bothered by strong cross winds even at 70mph. Never experienced that on previously lifted Jeeps.

Wife and i also hated that Rubicon Fox shock bounce/floaty feel on the highway. My first mod was to install the Air Lift 1000 bags which firmed up the ride but then after 75k kms with those shocks, I switched to the BDS NX2 shocks (like 5100) and it was night and day difference immediately. Planted and no more bounce. Air bags still helpful for those more heavy loads to keep the truck level.

It's a 2023 Rubicon. It sounds like shocks may be the answer...Bilstein 5100's in particular. Has anyone tried the Eibach shocks? The reason I ask is I see a two inch front spring/1 inch rear spring kit that Is about all the lift I desire. Just thinking of doing this as a future upgrade.

The ride is pretty good around 30 and below, it's as speed increases that it becomes more uncomfortable. I don't think it's a mechanical issue...more of a tuning thing, but I could be wrong. It gets a little hairy feeling going down the interstate at 75 or so and hitting several small rough spots together in a turn. I also think the rake makes it a little worse...especially going down hill.
I have the Eibach shocks and am very happy with them a couple years later. Firmed it up but not overly harsh on big hits and the price was right. There’s a thread on them around here somewhere.

Another vote for Bilstein 5100s
Yea for all around better ride/performance balance the 5100’s are dollar for dollar the best. All four would be the best way to go, with MOPAR leveling spacers in front. Then if you’re interested in running level with load weight in the rear, then think of air bags or different springs, with a progressive weight rating. Just remember to never go over the weight rating in the door jamb for safety/legal reasons. Good luck.

Thanks for all the information, I know have a direction to address my issue and will be ordering a set of rear shocks in the future.
