Hello! I have a Rubicon with all factory suspension...less than 4,000 miles. Factory tires (Falken tires with factory pressure and the factory red shocks). My issue is the rear seems bouncy...especially when going 70 or so on the interstate when I hit a few rough spots in turns. No wobble or anything like that, no unusual sounds, it just feels uncomfortably loose or bouncy. I have read that the suspension on Rubicon's is a bit soft, so I am wondering if better shocks, springs or what would help. At some point I would like to level the factory rake a bit, but don't want to do much now because of warranty issues. I'm not planning on doing any serious off roading, maybe a few mild trails at some point. I like everything else about it, it's just that loose feeling in the back that gets worse the faster I go.

Are you new to driving trucks? I mean..... it's not going to drive the same as a car or SUV.
The rear end on any truck is 'light' because there's no weight back there to keep the wheels on the road. The path of least resistance over bumps at speed....bouncy, skaty..... You could spend a fortune on suspension & shocks - it might help a little - but it's still going to act like 'a truck'. You could put weight in the bed....but you'd sacrifice gas mileage and reduced weight for hauling or tonque weight.

Front Rake....... If you tow a few things or add weight to the bed for a period of time - that'll help the rear suspension settle and you won't need to buy any leveling springs for the front. My 24' Mojave with only 5,000 miles is perfectly level (almost too much). I tow a bass boat on the weekends all summer - fixed that problem for me. I wished I still had some rake.

From what I've heard.... the Rubicon suspension is already stiff compared to the Mojave suspension (which is softer).

No issues with warranty just doing a level kit. Upgrade to some better shocks made a big difference on my 2021.

The Mojave is a different animal, They come 1" taller in the front then a Rubicon so why less rake. Also have a massive different shock package. The shock package is what mainly that package gets you. , and minus the front locker.

i’ve driven everything from a ‘57 Chevy truck to Army 5 tons…It feels like the rear springs are too hard or soft, or the rough spots aren’t damped very well at higher speeds. Since I do spend a good bit of time on the Interstate, I am willing to trade weight capacity for better road manners. I have reduced the rear tire pressure to 35 and have two bags of sand that weigh around 50 lbs each…may have helped a tiny bit, but barely noticeable.

OEM Rubicon shocks are valved soft. Switch to Bilstein 5100 for a better ride. They will take the bounce out of it.

360# of sand tubes in the bed and an ARB Classic Deluxe bumper with winch has my Rubicon rolling smooth AF on OEM springs and shocks. No complaints.

That's the "Ruby Bounce". As far as I can tell only the Rubicons enjoy it.

Changing shocks should help. I plan on installing some Bilstein shocks soon.

What year rubicon? I had to change out my 22’ Rubi shocks at 4k cus they were all blown. It was very sketchy to drive. I slapped in some new take off red bodies from a newer 23 and it’s been solid thus far. My Mojave has never had any issues and she’s currently due for a shock rebuild. Idk why people are saying the Mojave is softer than the Rubi. It’s not, it’s WAY stiffer. If your Mojave is softer than a Rubi you may need to warranty your shocks, or your overloading the truck. Payload on mine is 1220, if I exceed 650 in the bed it definitely loses shock performance. I did get bags on my Mojave to help when I tow just for that minor issue. Now as a side note the only Rubi I’ve driven that was stiffer than any other glady I’ve driven, was on bilstein shocks and synergy coils. That was slammed to bumpstop Honda civic levels of stiff.

It's a 2023 Rubicon. It sounds like shocks may be the answer...Bilstein 5100's in particular. Has anyone tried the Eibach shocks? The reason I ask is I see a two inch front spring/1 inch rear spring kit that Is about all the lift I desire. Just thinking of doing this as a future upgrade.

The ride is pretty good around 30 and below, it's as speed increases that it becomes more uncomfortable. I don't think it's a mechanical issue...more of a tuning thing, but I could be wrong. It gets a little hairy feeling going down the interstate at 75 or so and hitting several small rough spots together in a turn. I also think the rake makes it a little worse...especially going down hill.

Yes, search eibach, there was a thread here a year ago.
Ruby = soft suspension
Mohave = stiffer

Soft for rocks
Stiff for high speed desert

People don't know what they are talking about and state wrong info

Dimpsy I experienced the same thing.. Rubicon ARE softer than Mojaves. Why because they were designed for rock crawling .
Now as I said I experienced this also I remedied this one of 2 ways initially I carried a couple 50 pound sand bags around for a long time. Then I also reduced tire pressure in my tires.
Ultimately the original shocks are total dog $#!t ...lol So I did a lift and put Falcon shocks on it. The bigger flotation tires 35x12.50.17's I run about 32 pounds .the Falcon shocks solved about 99% of the problem. I have since removed the spare tire and run no weight in the bed. Shocks shocks shocks.

OMG now I have to worry about my Glad twerking in the highway! What next?
Here we put sand bags over the rear wheels dual purpose weight for stability and sand to get unstuck Happy New Year to all

I had all the weird rear end stuff also. After several changes I now have a good set up. Fox 2.5 adjustable with remote res. Synergy 2 inch springs. No more white knuckles on wavy freeway exchanges at 70. Keeping the 37s at 34-36psi also helps.
