Sun Visor Rattle

Has anyone else experience their sun visors rattling where the visor clips into the hook? When I go over washboards it makes this terrible plastic rattle. I can also recreate it by grabbing it and shaking. It's only happening on the Driver side. Went to the dealer and they replaced the hook under warranty but it's worse now than it was before. I can pull the bracket out by hand vs the passenger side being firm. Dealer is trying to order another part to try.

While you wait for the part, you might want to check the visor's hinge. There are multiple reports on this and the JL forum about this failing. I can imagine a hinge failure leading to a misalignment at the clip. ... just a thought... good luck!

My driver side visor hinge broke as well. I was just driving down the road and it fell off and was just hanging by the wire. I had to call all around Southern California to find a dealership that had the visor in stock. (Seemed to be a backordered item.) They replaced it without any issue under warranty.

Thank you for the replies, b-roc and ndn384! It's a possible culprit. My current fix is to unclip the visor from the hook while on wash boards and it silences it. With the visor unclipped, I can grab the hook and easily recreate the noise by jiggling it. With the new dealer installed part I can almost remove the hook from the windshield by pulling it if it weren't for the torx bolt. Trying the same thing to the passenger side doesn't create the same noises/issues as the driver side. I'll post a photo of what I'm talking about.

In the photos below you can see how far forward and back the hook can rock. It does take some force to make it do this but trying it on the passenger side doesn’t do the same thing.
