I want to apologize but my engine was made in Mexico. I pulled the sticker for my Challenger which was right next to it. Again, sorry for the incorrect info.
Can you please just update your original post and delete this one?

So, other than replacing engine, has anyone with the ESS needs service, CEL and engine misfire code problems
actually gotten their engine fixed? Mine is at the Service Dealer for repair attempt #4 right now. Problem persists even after software update.

Im being told from my source that there should be a sticker on the left side of the engine intake that could have a engine production date. It has not been verified and I have not had a chance to find the sticker but hopefully it contains a date.
Edit: on the right side of the engine if looking from the front.

Gladiator is going back into the shop today. I picked it up yesterday after fighting with FCA.
It has been in the shop for 45 of the 78 days I have owned it. This will be the 4th trip.

FCA is a joke. I received a call from my FCA rep and she stated that the dealer and FCA have come to the conclusion that there is a problem with the engine. The wanted to start removing heads. I asked them to not tear the motor apart and buy the vehicle back. My rep sent me an email and stated that my case has been transferred to a new rep. She stated that she only handles repairs not buybacks. She did not provide contact info so I spent a couple hours on the phone trying to find my new rep.
New rep calls and I'm assuming that she works on buybacks. We discuss the issues and my frustration with the whole process. The rep then tells me that they can not duplicate the problem so I need to pick it up. I remind her that when I took it in for the 3rd time it had both lights on and is running rough. She tells me that the code was erased when they did the testing. It is stored but not coming on now. I asked what did they fix? She told me they did not fix anything. Just reset and test drive. HOW CAN IT BE FIXED AND YOU DIDN'T REPAIR ANYTHING???
I told her that i was not interested in doing playing this game and would like to know the next step for the buyback. It gets good now.

She states that a team that determines if a vehicle is eligible for a buyback reviewed and said it was not eligible. I asked why and for documentation and she stated she could not give me that info. I could have legal info that I can not see. I have meet lemon law requirements for the state of Virginia.
I ask why did they switch case managers if it was not moving to a new dept. She tells me that the original girl has not come to work for a couple of days and that is why they transferred me. She said the other girl may be sick or something. Funny how the original girl told me she was transferring me to the buyback team.
I picked it up yesterday and drove about 20 miles and the Auto start light came on. I'm filing my complaint with the BBB today.
I'm not sure how you other guys have negotiated the buyback FCA.

I'm sure I will receive a call or email from FCA right after I post this. They are only doing damage control and PR. They are not trying to fix and issues or do what is right.

If you don't know already, the engine serial number is stamped on the starter mount circled in yellow. If you can't find an engine build date, a serial number could prove helpful.

Gladiator Rubicon. Manufactured 10-2019. Says made in USA. Just hit 2,000 miles. Had 3 or 4 auto stop start service warnings. They go away after a restart. Got a check engine light this weekend. With typical code of p0300. Cleared with Tazer. And has not come back since. Jeep was running fine. But I never drove it. Started, got stop start not available after a few seconds. A few seconds later got the check engine light. May have come on at same time as stop start and may have not noticed it. I had just turned ac on after starting it. And I think the last few times I had turned on ac. I don’t typically use ac. Not my daily driver. Just a toy. But sucks that now I have this unsolvable issue (for now). After shelling out $55,000 and another $10,000 plus in lift and tires and winch and bumpers etc

Date code is 101812 505AA

I am in the middle of this right now. My Gladiator is at the dealer for the 4th and final repair attempt under Florida Lemon law. FCA coordinator and service dealer are refusing to tell me wether a compression test has been done. And they are also claiming the can not duplicate the problemS. On all 4 visits, I have delivered the vehicle with the CEL light on, and with both pending and stored P0300 Codes. ASS needs service light first 3 visits. Seems like everyone is trying to hide from the defective engine problem. Does anyone have a suggestion for me on how to move past this game?

Get an attorney. That they can't recreate the problem does not negate that there is a documented issue that they cannot fix. Thats exactly what lemon laws were designed for. They prevent the manufacturer from simply giving consumers the run around and avoiding taking accountability for defective vehicles.
My 2 cents.

Besides what NJbevo said - document the heck out of everything. Take pictures, videos, whatever, and document EVERYTHING. Insist that the dealer show you results - it's YOUR truck (so far, anyway)

Did you have start stop issues prior to 2000 miles, or did it just start happening?

I was going the BBB route today but put it on hold until I talk to my lawyer. We have scheduled a call today to discuss my options and decide what is the best route.
I have dumped a ton of money into this vehicle including accessories and local taxes. Not to mention how many hours I have burned between trips to the dealer and fighting with FCA.
This would be so simple to resolve if FCA would do what is right.

Problem first manifested at about 551 miles, after approx five weeks of ownership.

Same as my situation. Even though my vehicle more than qualifies for a buyback, they won't authorize it because I "haven't given them a fair opportunity" to fix the vehicle. 39 days in the shop now...
