Same as my situation. Even though my vehicle more than qualifies for a buyback, they won't authorize it because I "haven't given them a fair opportunity" to fix the vehicle. 39 days in the shop now...
This is so messed up.
I sent all of my info to a lawyer today and have a call with him at 8:30 am tomorrow.

They wont even tell me why I don't qualify.

Mine has been in the shop since june 3rd....and this wasn't its first visit for this issue. They still refused a buy back or exchange. My lawyer has attempted to contact them 4 times...they will not even reply. FCA and Jeep can burn to the ground at this point. I hope Bronco sends them to the poor house.

I think at this point we all need to file complaints with the NHTSA. I just filed mine this morning. We also need some attention on this issue with a media influencer or consumer reporter.

Did you have start stop issues prior to 2000 miles, or did it just start happening?
yes. I didn’t think too much of it the first time or two. I have a Tazer JL Mini and typically leave the auto start stop “off”. I figured it was related to that. Not sure mileage it first happened but it was before 1,000 miles. Only has a bit over 2,000 now. And last weekend was the first timE I got a CEL light. Hasn’t come back on since. But I have only driven a few miles since.

So I took a few hours and compiled every report & update from this thread onto an excel spreadsheet that I’ll post to the group. I’m gathering info from a few other threads as well. One thing I’m noticing is the number of individuals who never reported back on whether their issues were resolved. I may start sending some messages. I’d like to know if they were fixed, bought back, or if the issue persists.

Mine is at the dealership. Day 32 of ownership and it has been there for 18 of those days. If it is not back in my driveway by labor day, I will start the lemon law process here in Washington State.

Hi, Quick update - they are currently replacing the engine in mine. May be ready later this week or early next week. (For ease of reference for readers - manufactured in November 2019, purchased in May 2020, first CEL/PO300 code at 160 miles.)

What test prompted the dealer to recommend engine replacement?

Not exactly sure, but I think it was primarily related to low compression on the 2,4,6 side.

Interesting. I am on my fourth service visit and been requesting an engine compression test for 2 days now. So far, no cooperation.

what other tests or repair attempts were made before the engine compression problem was identified?

Quick update - they replaced my engine after 55 days in the shop. CEL/PO300 issue on 3 occasions. Currently driving the Gladiator, awaiting my FCA buy back scheduled to take place next week (no vehicle swap offered). Process took over 2 months with no Legal representation needed. Process is quite drawn out. (For reference - Gladiator manufactured in Mexico on 11/19 purchased on 5/20, first CEL/PO300 code at 125miles).

I’m a bit confused? Are you having trouble again after your engine swap or you’re just fed up with the whole process and doing a buy back?

Buy back was agreed upon prior to me getting the Gladiator back. I was fed up with FCA and dealership. Additionally I wasn't interested in a 60K Gladiator with a rebuilt engine. They literally had my truck 3 times for a total of 55 of the first 70 days of ownership. Service department put more miles on the truck then I did.

Thanks for the clarification. Not sure if you can provide any details regarding your buyback price or not, but if you can, was it based off of msrp or what you actually paid (fees, TTL, etc). Just trying to see what my options may be done the road.

What I actually paid including all TTL, fees, etc. (state lemon law). Didn’t have time to do any mods so that was not part of the buyback.
