Suspension with no lift.

I need help figuring out what to do. I know in the future I will get a lift no more than 3", but for now I'm trying to get my truck as Overlanding capable as possible first. My issue is, what should I do for now with my suspension...its WAY too soft and my truck feels top heavy when turning and bounces/rocks like crazy going over speed bumps. Are there any good shock and spring combos I can buy now and not feel like I threw away a shit load of money when I do get a lift? I have a Sport.

not sure what budget you're looking at, but you could get a set of Mojave take off, then lift from there later. there's always a more basic Icon kit, or the AEV dual sport kit, or the Mopar kit.

Just kind of depends what your budget is, but you could get any of those and build as you go from there. But I think you'll find you want some more spring as well as a lot more damping.

Before you throw money away, check each corner of your JT.

Push down hard on the bumper at each corner and release. It should come back up and stop.
If it bounces several times or is slow coming back up, to the dealer you go for a warranty claim.
Even new shocks will fail. Leaking seals, bent shafts, blown seals, faulty valving, etc etc.

Even one bad shock will make a vehicle a wobbly mess.

Do the corner test on the existing shocks. If they are not bad, start with a set of Rubicon take-off shocks. They are not real expensive, and show up fairly often in the for sale area after someone installs a lift.

Find a Rubicon take off suspension for sale. Probably the best bang for the buck where you won't feel like you threw away a ton a money when you go to a higher lift.

Having a JTR stock height and on 37s for about 15k miles now and using it as a daily with a 1/2 rack and RTT, I can tell you that the back end is soft. Super soft!

I just removed the RTT & rack because of a rear window leak issue and I am blown away how responsive the JTR drives and firm its become again.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I will be at a min. adding air springs in the rear to keep too much sag from happening and thusly avoid having my shocks start somewhere in the mid-travel stage where they tend to be most "plush."

**Also, because people always end up asking, yes, I have rubbed off road, but seriously, not much at all and mostly on more trails where there is more of rock crawling (Broken Arrow/BullDog Canyon) that just East Coast mixed terrain
