Help me, I remain confused.

I am interested in the Oracle Flush mount tail lights. From what I read the JT lighting system gets confused if halogens are replaced by LED and vice versa causing lighting system functional FUBAR. I prefer not to have to get a TAZER just to change my tail lights. I hope Oracle will chime in...

I have a Sport S with Factory LED upgrade. I guess that means the DRL's and Headlights, nothing to do with tail lights. My truck is in storage in another state so I can't look at it right now. Are there JT's that come from the factory with LED tail lights? Is it a trim level thing? (Like a Rubi has LED tail lights but a lowly Sport S does not?).

Anybody put the Oracle LED flush mounts on their Sport S without problems? For me I think that is a LED replacement for a halogen OEM tail light. Is that going to work? Reading all the lighting posts I still cannot determine what it is that has caused some owners lighting system problems and other owners get off with no problems what-so-ever. Can somebody clear up the mystery?

There is no mystery. If you need to make adjustments, Jscan is much cheaper than a Tazer, and you don't have to worry about losing your settings when taking it to the dealer. Halogen is the default, unless the trim package or an upgrade option includes LED lights. If you have LED already, just install the Oracle lights, nothing to adjust. If you have Halogen, install the resistors that come with the lights, or use a programmer to change the settings to LED lights. Some do have issues installing Oracle lights, but that's a bridge to cross if it pops up. They are usually helpful in solving problems.

When switching between Halogen and LED, be sure to install the resistors or update the computer, before testing the lights to see if they work. The system will cut power if it sees a big difference between the expected and actual draw of the lights.

Thank you, Bill. That is pretty clear! I appreciate the 'straight skinny'!

If you are changing from bulb to LED, you will notice the sockets. But it is not a problem, Oracle lights provides the resisters if this is case you are found to be in. There are resisters for the main brake lights and the reverse lights. I have the oracle Flush Lights, Racetrack and the Rear Bumper Reverse Lights

Retired. Beach bum.
My 2024 Sport S I bought new in July came with the rear radar cross traffic backup safety system that has all LED’s all in the rear, plus the driver convenience package that includes all LED lighting inside. But has halogen headlight, DRL and turn signals in front. I swapped in some low priced H13 LED “bulbs”, re-aimed the headlights enough to keep the low beams from being higher than the taillights in front of me, to also keep from blinding oncoming traffic and I’ve never been flashed, the LED’s truly turn the darkness roads at night into day, across 4 lanes as far as I can see and then some on high, then about 100’ of two lanes and sidewalks with a dark spot up on the left side. So just about perfect. Next will be the fog lights, but don’t expect much as like they say FOG lights, only designed to illuminate the fog lines on the road without glaring back. For under $50 for the two I’m pleased to see much better at night.

Hi Sandman, agree with you. When I ordered my sport S I went for the Factory LED package. I did this based on the negative comments on the Halogen headlight visibility on this forum. I am very pleased with them.

I really like the racetrack, a big thumbs up there, I already removed the center Jeep lettering and bought a smaller set of letters and put the "Jeep" down in the lower left corner. Can anyone tell me from the following picture if these are halogen tail lights? I am not there to disassemble them. (Hoping wife will buy Oracles for my birthday...)

Looks to be a factory black Jeep fender emblem to me. Probably a good place to start.

Camaroboi13 got it right, it is a factory fender emblem. The Gladiator heads are factory items used to cover the big letters' mounting/alignment holes. Purchased from Ebay.

You have a "go" from me to use the idea! I doubt with mine in Hawaii and you in Florida we'll be parking together. Happy New Year!
