Tazer mini questions

I'm going to test mine on my JL and remove it without unmarrying. That should leave the gears and tire size correction in place.

How the dealer sees/perceives and reacts to it will vary by dealer. I took mine out once and forgot to unmarry it and took it to the dealer. They did whatever it was I had them do and never said a word about it. But they also know I modify and mess with my Jeeps and I've sold a number of Jeeps for them, so they may be giving me a pass.

Maybe, but I've had warranty experience with this dealer for 17 years and nearly 300k miles with 3 Jeeps and no issues. YMMV. I don't lose sleep over it.

I just leave mine installed all of the time. When and if it ever hit a dealer shop, I will un-marry it. The only problem I can see with leaving it in, is if you can not be there to remove it when it needs to be removed. I could not expect my wife to go under the kick panel or to do the un-marry process.

I spoke to Z Automotive awhile back and yes if you unmarry your setting will go back to stock and if you don't unmarry and the dealer makes changes to your Gladiator's computer you risk unknown complications when you reinstall the previously married Tazer. The work around is don't unmarry the Tazer and if the dealer plugs your Gladiator into the service computer pay Z $50 for an unmarry key, this will "bake in" any changes you did previously and give you a new starting point. Of course if the service being done doesn't require the dealer to plug in your Gladiator just reinstall the Tazer after.

I got the Tazer in and set my 37s at 36.5 and the speedometer is perfect now. No problems. I'll make more changes as the days pass. I noticed there is a red blinking LED light on the Tazer.

I don't understand how you're having so difficulty with the Tazer aside from understanding how to operate the menu.

The Tazer has been, and still appears to be the main go-to programer for the JL and JT with thousands of users. My local Jeep dealerships know everything about them and use them and are not hard pressed to try to cancel your warranty because of using them. The guys at local 4x4 shops use them as well.

Side note: A dealership would rather take a chance on a warranty issue and receive factory money than hitting up a customer who has a higher chance of going somewhere else.

Many people, along with myself, are comfortable with leaving the Tazer plugged in order to access features in real time.

Side story: I once went to my dealership for a Jeep Wave oil change on my diesel. The dealership called me up because they said they did a flash update on my Jeep and it no longer started or functioned. I told them about the Tazer being still plugged in and you could almost hear the facepalm over the phone. It was quick repaired and they said it was their mistake and should have checked or asked. No cancellation of warranty, no drama, no new problem.

I have had trouble with battery drain with my Tazer Mini on two Jeeps. My brother had the same with his on his Gladiator. I think I know the issue, though, and am going to do an update to the latest firmware before trying it in my JT. My understanding is that the feature that lets you program the NAV (Nav on the go??) has an issue rebooting the stereo and causing it. But I don´t remember having that feature activated.

I will report back when I try it again. My Tazer JL has never once given me a battery drain issue no matter what firmware was selected. Strange, as there is no software/firmware difference between the two types of Tazers.
