I'll start this discussion off by calling back to previous post, questioning that the JT could be coming to the end of it production some time soon. But with the production of the 24' Rubi and Mojave X models. One would assume the JT is here to stay. Or is it? While the X versions are definitely cool imo. The lack of 4xE, 392 and Hurricane integration as well as the dropping of eco diesel powerplant. It feels like the JT is getting setup for the pasture. Like we've been hung out to dry and fend for ourselves when it comes to a next gen powerplant. The entire market along with the wrangler has been getting stronger, faster, and more efficient. turbo 4s, hybrid assist, twin turbo inline 6s making a comeback. Meanwhile the JT gets a little more trim as if that gonna make up for being the middle child Jeep is slowly forgetting. Personally I'm gonna be annoyed to see the day a Compass chugs along as the JT gets taken out to pasture. Thoughts?

I think it had been said that the platform is surviving through 2028 anyway…I guess we will see after that.

There seems to be a lot of useless worrying about the future of the JT. Based on the Union deal from September, it should be around through 2028. The development of the JT is tied to the JL. Don't expect any major upgrades or new engines for it. The sales are good, but not enough to justify paying for Crash Testing for design changes or engine upgrades just for the JT. There is a lot of noise here, but the majority of the people that want a JT are going to buy one even if there is no engine choice. The comparison to what other manufacturers are doing is pointless, since there is no product that is a direct competitor.

i think if you look at it from an overland/offroad/lifestyle perspective. The Tacoma comes pretty close. It has a insane amount of after market and a very similar cult like following.

You also cannot flat tow it behind an RV, which I do.

Maybe, there is so much platform sharing, I’m not 100% sure I agree. I am also not certain you are wrong, of course.

yeah if you can get a GFC camper for your truck. odds are it can be a lifestyle offroader. granted thats what the gladiator is marketed as but that doesn't mean other platforms can't do it. therefore its competition by user rather than manufacturer. I think the new Tacoma Pro and Overland variants are very good competitors to the overland and mojave spec gladiators.
