be prepared to spend long night researching mods and options, while frequently draining your liquid assets, from purchasing said mods...

Yeah, sure you didn't have an issue. Most people are not going to admit that their precious vehicle can't do all these wonderous things they do.

If I had 4 adults and a kid in my JTM, I would be at or even over the payload capacity on the door card. There is no getting around that, it's a done deal, I couldn't even haul an additional picnic basket.

So how was your gas mileage hauling all these people around? My 3.6L would struggle with 4 adults, not gonna lie.

If I spent the majority of my driving time hauling even a 4000 lb. trailer, I would not be driving a JTM.

Maybe you all do it and it doesn't bother you. But for me, it isn't what I bought the Jeep for anyways so I'm not going to do it.
Dude @KevinC , whats wrong 😕 that 3.6l of yours running on 2 cylinders 😂
Now come on I just had my big 7200k generator a pretty good Rick of wood, bunches of camp supplys and a lantern and a 2 coolers full of ice and drinks and a dog and I did just fine driving in the mountains..
Surely joking heh?

Not sure if joking would be the right term...I love my JTM and I honestly believe the 3.6L is a decent motor. But as you add weight to the truck, you start to see the loss of power and having to push the rpm to stay within the proper power band to get it to move. Besides, after driving the wife's JLU with the 2.0L Turbo, the 3.6L is a dog.

I'm not sure what's driving the tendency of people to not want to run these engines as intended and designed. The fear of higher RPM.
Again - when I first bought my LS-equipped Silverado and hauled my car across the states and it went into the 5,000 RPM range on some of our hills - I contacted the Chevy people and they said - LET IT, it's designed to do that, it's more efficient there.
It's the same for these - LET IT. Why the fear of anything over 3,000 RPM? Hell, older engines ran into the 3,000-3,500 RPM range just cruising down the highway, and we're afraid to let a modern engine built to wind up tight run there and higher?
It's a self-inflicted thing if people are bothered by these having to wind up to make power.
Don't blame the engine, blame the driver - it's all self-inflicted. You lack power because you won't let it run where it's supposed to run.
People afraid of RPM possibly also own a motorcycle that routinely tops 6,000 RPM but think nothing of it, or see a drag race where an Asian-made car whomps the ass of an American V8 - the Asian car topping 7,000 RPM for power while having half the displacement.

Let the damn 3.6 run where it wants to run. There's plenty of power up there.
