Before the JT I looked hard at PW, one thing that caught me off guard was how much weight you could put in the bed, for a 3/4 ton it’s not a reasonable pay load. Nobody at Dodge would come out and say it, but it’s because of the CG of the beast. Much like JT, no slip in camper. Good luck picking something that fits you.
To be fair my F350 Tremor with the 4200 lbs payload comes with a flyer in the glove box saying it's not rated for any slide in camper either. I don't know why, but a lot of Fords at least come with that flyer.

People put oversized campers in. They over hang the bed really far and the camper weight displacement is different than truck design. Lots of people have been snapping frames on the Ford and Ram trucks.

I don't know how you get any bigger payload than a dually though, they sticker between 5 and 8k pounds. I guess you can get one of these, I've seen them but they're 200k. Very cool rigs though.

I found a deal on a 2023 Power Wagon new with Level 1 package and got a decent deal on trading in my Mojave so I pulled the trigger. I live in the shadow of Skyline Drive in Virginia where the banjo music is constant. I miss my Mojave and thinking of going back over to a Gladiator if I can find a good deal. The PW is a beast and it will take on a fire road no problem just can't get of onto the side trails and less traveled places. When I traded up to the PW I got a off road mod'd 2000 Cherokee to go hunting and such. The tranny went out and it would be nice to have the Gladiator as backup. Not too fond of the ride of the PW as it's as rough as the Mojave on road and I'm sore when I get out but I also have minor back problems. I would say with your knee and needing more room minus the obvious larger size it will more than handle itself off road fosho. Also not keen on the vertical screen on the stereo and I'm often looking for something down on the bottom which takes my eyes too far off the road but it sounds awesome. If you don't need to get up tight mountain roads I think you will be fine. But also keep in mind washing it and servicing the engine from the top will be a pain. The three honks are f'ing annoying. Also if you're a privacy freak it's one helluva spy second only to a Tesla lol. Side note when I drive that thing I often find myself listening to Hair Nation on SiriusXM lol.

Power Wagon forum. A lot of good people on it. But it's a quite forum. Not real busy.

I am on this forum as well there is a lot of power wagon guys there and they are pretty active. They are a good crowd and know all about them and how to make them ride better.

Thanks Dick I'll check it out. Update I went to trade in my PW today for a 25 Gladiator Mojave but for whatever reason the mathematical algorithm at NFCU didn't like the numbers but will try again tomorrow. If I end up keeping it no problem it will just get more action running around in the woods and getting some Appalachian pin stripes.

For a better ride on a Ram truck look at Thuren suspension. I have the full suspension on my 2500 Ram diesel 4x4 and it rides great and stilll tows my 25 ft 6K pound TT great.
