Yeah, every time I drive through there is a area that emanating the odor of weed, to the point I almost need to find a different route around it. It's one of the things I have allergic reaction to.

So freaking true. As one who commuted into and near DC for most of my adult life, it is usually the black luxury nameplate cars (BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc) that drive like they own the road. One example - Some moron tried to cut in front of my JL in his AMG G500 as I was exiting and he didn't want to wait in the long line going to I-495, so he rushed up in the left lane to cut in at the very front. I didn't give in to him with all the steel around my JL and he ended up getting airborn in a pothole that was quite deep. Probably popped some tires as I never saw him again. Yes, driving in the DC metro area is beyond ridiculous. I retired shortly after that this year and live far enbough way to get out on free roads on my motorcycles and Jeeps. DC work pays well, but in the end, it is NOT worth the stress. I drive much calmer now.
Im surprised that bumper held up. I was just rear-ended, well like 3 weeks ago now but still waiting to get her in for an estimate. I was at a redlight. Wasn't a highspeed impact. Bumper bent and so did side of bed, so now I cant open the tailgate. Im def searching for a steal bumper

I think my hitch for the Max Tow is what has saved me so far. That hitch has taken a beating. I tried to show a pic of that, but you will have to zoom in. The receiver part of the hitch is bent down now. The bolts on the Hitch itself are bent where it attaches to the frame on the right side. Frame looks okay but I don’t know how it could be. The spare is full sized 37” BFG AT and it has been moved forward enough to have bent the heat shield. The Tereflex rear track bar for overland kit has a bend to clear the spare but it is really close to hitting it now.

I hate this because I’ve avoided so many accidents in this JT and in my Mustang. This time the JT has taken a beating. I am still driving it, but something in its rear alignment is messed up.. and that’s not good! I’m afraid to drive the 2013 32.000 mile GT coyote convertible right now. I have had to accelerate that GT out of a couple of accidents in the past two years. Good thing she is fast!

Sorry for the bad luck. I really dislike having to drive to or through any of the big cities especially now. I've got to drive down and though Birmingham AL in few days then on to Miami by 2 Dec. on return trip I'll have to drive back then to Huntsville.

If I don't have a trailer hooked up I normally have a 2x2 1/4 wall square tubing in the receiver hitch. It's painted yellow or pintle hook so people can see what they are about to hit. ;)

Thinking maybe I should get one of these, they make attachments for these to put on pickup trucks.

maybe just paint it yellow?

probably would be hard to run away from one of these.
A rear end perp runaway deterrent.

I went from a beater Xterra with steel front and rear bumpers, steel frame-mounted rock sliders, and 3/16 armor down the entire belly. It was beat to hell, covered in scratches and dents from being bounced off rocks; the rust was starting to set in and it was clear that it gave exactly zero f--ks to a very nice Gladiator.

It was glorious to drive in traffic, especially in their fancy Audi A8s and Range Rovers. The vehicle just oozed "I'm-a-$3,500-beater-truck-and-you're-a-$120,000-luxury-car-I-will-kill-us-both-and-not-think-twice"-energy.

Now I'm extremely nervous in traffic, I kind of miss the "Hit me, it's worth more as a write-off" approach.

Man this makes me so angry. Seattle is just as bad or worse. I couldn't stand that state anymore and had to leave before doing bad things. It amazes me how there continues to be no consequence for criminals.
Seattle and the I-5 corridor is a sh*thole

Wait until the unchecked tidal wave of invaders from the south start driving (and voting).
A piece of 2" schedule 40 square tubing welded to a stub and run in your receiver will give you some added protection for the rear of your truck.

Get an old or cheap pipe wrench to make a tailgating deterrent...

I got this a couple of years ago just in case. Like a lot of you, I live in an area that used to be pretty relaxed, but the locusts that have ruined their home states have zeroed in here. I haven't had to use it yet, but came super close one day when I heard screeching tires behind me while I waited at a red light. Yes, they make rubber ones that prevent damage while protecting you, but if your dumbass is going to rear end me, you're getting your car totaled. ;)

There is an unmeasurable amount of stupid on the roads these days .... we recently visited my son in Memphis... it was obvious that most people deem their choice of transportation as disposable.

Memphis is a pit of a hole... I'd say its worse than Atlanta...

How many new yawkers does it take to "enrich" the great state of Tennessee?

There are a lot of idiots out there. My city of Nashville has changed from its quaint Sothern Charm small town feel to the chaotic NY, Cali big city crazy.
@XJADDICTION - Sorry to hear about the accident, I've passed by you at least a half dozen times, but never with time to stop and chat. I hope it works out for the best in this scenario.

Yep, I grew up here, lived in Mt. Juliet, Hendersonville, and now Nolensville all right around the Nashville area. It's changed a ton, the Mt. Juliet I grew up in had one stop light. Mostly for the good I like to think but it seems like the recent surge of growth has been mostly like you all described. I personally haven't been hit recently (knock on wood), but my daughter was hit last year in her Mini and the driver that rear ended her, can you guess? - No License, No Insurance, and spoke very little English. Thank god for uninsured motorist policies I guess, wish they weren't necessary. I doubt anything ever happened to the guy as a repercussion of his actions.
I do blame the city managers and politicians and every single idiot that voted them in, as for me I'll stay in Tennessee, but I am definitely heading east away from Nashville.

I’m sorry about the run of bad luck.

Did you think about fixing the bumper and then somehow end up blacking out your tailgate?

I’ve seen you as well around town. I remember Hwy 70 as 1 lane no turn lane, and had 4-way stop at Hwy 70 and 109. Now there were always a lot of accidents there!
Everything has changed and I only go into Nashville with my personal vehicles for work )though the Mustang will no longer be going down there). Weekend entertainment I just ride with friends , Uber or Lyft. Parking is the other PIA as well!
