Garmin BC 35. I found it at $138 on Ebay. This is the view it had before I clobbered it. Ultimately, I'll do another down there but will figure out a way to get it up and more out of harm's way. I was able to place the tires very precisely with this view. It isn't a substitute for a good spotter, but is VERY helpful when no spotter is available.

Also, the wires for the camera are very small guage. So I used plastic protectors on them. I may try and do something more to shore them up a bit. Not sure why Garmin went so fragile with them, other than the fact the power draw on this camera is almost nothing.

The magnetic mount on this thing is really nice, too. Here is a pic of my setup with Ram mounts. I can't remember where I got the mount rig for the dash tray, but I'll try and find it. My brother is asking me to find it for his Gladiator, too.

Funny this thread gets reactivated just now, as I received by Overlander a few days ago. These comments really validate my decision to forgo the $1800 8.4" radio and get the $525 (what I paid) Overlander instead.

Now a question for DanW: I was thinking of screwing the articulating RAM mount right to the dash, which I think is what you did. My fears are 1) there might be something under there that the drill ruins, and 2) is there any meat to hold screws?

Look closely. Mine is an accessory that mounts into the existing screws in the dash tray. The RAM mounts are built-in.

I'm trying to find where I bought that thing. It has been on 3 major off-road trips and a couple minor ones and remains solid.

I'll find it. Stay tuned! No drilling or screwing into your dash and you can restore it to factory original if you don't like it or if you trade up at some point.

Found it! I knew it was some obscure brand. That's why I couldn't remember it.

A new wireless Garmin camera arrived yesterday, so this weekend I'll be installing it on the front bumper. I'll post up the results once set up.

I was looking at this not just for the off-road maps and wireless cameras, but we flat tow our gladiator with the Motorcoach. I'm so glad they have the RV info also that includes type and length of vehicle to help stay clear of underpasses that are lower than your rig or places difficult to navigate with an RV let alone towing with one. Definitely will install the camera on the front of the jeep but love the underneath setup also for out west. Too much mud and snow here in Michigan for that at the moment but hope to use in the future. On the RV I already have a backup and turn signal cameras but may add side cameras for when camping. Thanks for having this thread, very useful information....

I demolished the camera underneath. I know, I should have easily seen that coming, Lol! But I mounted it in a place I've never hit before. I guess that little camera was a wide open invitation for the next big rock. It not only wrecked the camera itself, but also sliced through the cable in the only 1/2 inch or so that was even partially exposed. It really had to hit the bullseye to do that!

I bought a new camera and put it safely on the top center of the front bumper. I'll post a pic later this evening. IT doesn't spot for the diff or front tires nearly as well, but it does help when cresting a steep hill and the lines do offer a small bit of help for wheel placement. Best of all, the camera doesn't wobble or vibrate in the wind turbulence, even at highway speed.

I bought this, and like a lot of Jeep aftermarket, it is overpriced, but nevertheless I'm glad I got it, as it looks like it is an original part of the dash. It has three different places to attach the RAM mount; I chose the center. This places the 7" Overlander screen immediately above the 7" radio screen.

I also mounted a 12v receptacle on the Voswitch, with hidden wiring down to the the bundles below on passenger side. So I don't have the Garmin power cord running down to the 12v receptacle below the A/C controls.

With the Garmin magnetic mount, it is simple to pop it off and stick it in the center console.

Nice setup! Cleaning up the wiring is on my short list of things to do soon!

I ordered that Ram flush mount that was just released with t-balls, that looks similar to what you have so that will be a good add. Always put my sunglasses there but I need to find a better place anyway for glasses. Cord management is big for me also, can’t stand exposed wires. Did you drill into the dash or run it along the glads to the side and then down?

I've not drilled into the dash. Right now, the cord is just coming straight down, running through the grab bar. It is ugly and cluttered. I'll ultimately run a wire around the back of the dash tucked in below the windshield over to the passenger side, then down, and connect to the aux switch wire that is hot when the ignition is on. I've also got two RAM replacement balls for the ones that came with that mount. They are cheaply made and the rubber is starting to come off of them. The RAM balls will be MUCH better.

This proved easier than expected. There are two triangular plastic pieces on the dash on either side of the tray. On my JT, the one on the left has a small dome that probably does something. The one on the right is plain. I found with a sharp small flat screwdriver I could gently pry it up. Part of the defrost vent comes with it.

So I drilled a hole in the flat part. Underneath there is what looks like a plug-in connector in the plastic, but unused. I drilled right through the center of that. Then it was easy to use a stiff fish wire to get my conductors down below. Came out right behind the glove box. I connected to the 10 amp battery wire (not one of, but bundled with, the aux switch circuits).
