I’m running milestar Patagonia mt’s right now, they have cupped and are noisy as hell. Looking to go bigger. Ordered new wheels, 18 inch, need opinions on new tires.
If money is no concern….. which tires are the best for all around road use and off roading?

BFG KO2s for the win. Not the most cutting edge design, but have worked very well for me x3 sets on my vehicles as I've been able to get 60k miles out of them with even wear and minimal road noise.

Had same issues with Patagonias. I replaced with Toyos, happier with the Toyos, also not near as noisy.

Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT. 3 peak rating. I live at a ski resort. A must have in my book. I sold my Nitto's for these.
Iam leaning towards the baja boss to replace my kenda klevers in the future as I've heard they are better in the wet and snow covered roads. They also offer them in a 35x10.5x17 like the kendas which I like.

What does "bigger" mean? Bigger than what?

Falken Wild Peak AT3. Mine are at 43000 miles and still quite as new and probably have another 15-20k of life left on them.
I did not have such luck with the Falkens the cupped and was Horrible off road in mud they was simply useless. They would fill up with clay mud and turn into a set of slicks

I rather like the Falken A/T's on my JTR.

I have run BFG KO2's and while a really good tire on and off road they do fill with mud and do not clean out well. I now run KM3's and while a great MT, they suck as a highway tire.

OP, the question is:
"If money is no concern….. which tires are the best for all around road use and off roading?"
So...best all around AND... Well let's start with is weight an issue and what size? As in do you want a C load tire for more efficiency and ride or a D load for good ride but tougher sidewalls for protection? And do they have the C load or D load in the size you want.

Now that you have narrowed it down there ask the question what do I do MOST? The best all-around tire is a myth. Its the best all around tire for the end users common needs.

Do you hit the beach? Basic trail rides? Mud? Rock? Road?

It's important because every all terrain I've used is never good in the mud, that's where they just can't do it (this is why many ATs have begun putting better open side lugs for grip)..because it needs bigger gaps between the lugs to clear, but if that happens on an all terrain its louder and doesn't ride as well, worse is the rain.

Mud tires are good for just that, mud. They also do well in the rocks...some of them. The softer the compound, the better. Patagonia actually do well here because they are soft...but they wear poorly on the road ...because they're soft. (I've had these too and no less than 25 different tires over the years)

All terrains like BFG KO2s are good in the rain and snow, because of better siping and closer lugs. They do well in the rocks too, because of the grip with the siping, again .....poor in the mud, they fill up.

I have not run the Baja boss yet, but I'm looking at that as well, I've used wild peaks at3 and MT, Toyo AT3 and MT, KO2s and Pats, even more off brand tires and Coopers and Kelly tires, Dunlops, Savero, Goodyear, etc.

Toyota and Nittos in my experience (not a law or rule) always last the longest and stay true to form the longest, but you pay for them. KO2s do well, but be sure to rotate them or they can get loud too.

Point blank, if you don't go mudding, you don't need a mud tire for faster wear, you can't get all other bases covered elsewhere. If you go mudding or get into mudholes on your travels, get a mud tire. Just know they will get loud and aren't as good in the rain.

Having said all that I've used mud terrains a long time because I like them and if I need them I got them. And they aren't BAD in the rain, and they aren't THAT loud. So besides your use, it depends on what you LIKE.

In the end....I'm getting ready to buy my next set of tires and due to my use....I'm 90% going for the KO2s, but might still grab those mickey Thompson's.

Good luck in your quest for tires. The greatest question with no answer.?

Enjoy the ride.

Ran the milestar MT 315s (34.6 in) on my JK... absolutely loved them... they did get louder after 45k however i was able to put 65k by rotating the 5th into the rotation. Never ran a better tire.
