I carry a lot of tools with me. These Husky boxes work well and really do not inhibit my view much at all. I'm old so I like that they have wheels on them and the main tool box in the back is more for emergency stuff like blanket, axe, tool set etc.

Side boxes work well. Very easy access from the sides depending on how much lift you use. I mounted two on my last truck. It was a Hummer H3T alpha I traded in for my Gladiator. Miss the v8 but not all the plastic and the IFS front end. The bed was even plastic.

Still waiting for them to arrive, but ordered the Pelican BX 135 and cross mounts. Pricy but got 30% off for Black Friday and it met all my requirements. Had to fit under the tonneau, easily removable, locakable, can be positioned in different locations depending on what I had going on, and no drilling the bed.

Something... something... software.
So while doing recon for work, lookie what I found.

At first blush it looks like it would fit the wheel wells rather well and would t stuck up too much. You would need to stand it off from the bed wall to allow for top swing but this space can use used to hold things like long skinny tools etc.

Nothing better than a rigid tool.

Looking at cam locker tool box. Does anyone know if the installation of the box, the way it hooks to the sides with J hooks, would interfere with a trail rail (like the one terraflex makes)?

Recently, I bought the Craftsman crossover toolbox from Lowes.

Back in the '90s, I bought a used Betterbilt for my 1995 Nissan Hardbody.
Then moved that to my 2009 Toyota Tacoma.
After more than 25 years, the bare aluminum toolbox was showing its age.

My plan was to clean it up, prime it, paint it Rubicon Red
and move it to my JTR. The paint was purchased
but being basically lazy I decided to try out the toolbox first
to make sure it was still the configuration I wanted.
The toolbox did not fit! The fuel filler neck interfered.
Did that ever save me a lot of work and heartbreak.

Based on this thread, I went to Lowes and bought the Craftsman.
The Craftsman billboard size red and white label
is pop riveted on. They can be drilled out but take it easy.

The toolbox comes with two j-hooks which is probably enough.
The knockout slots for the hooks are already knocked out.
The j-hooks can be installed easily from above.

There are more expensive mounting kits available
but you have to be able to hold the mounting block
under the bed rail and thread it from above.
Then it is ugly as you can see in the picture below.
